But if they see it coming it is relatively easy to counter start a fire to obscure the sun kick up a big dust cloud have reflective material around etc. Rimuru wants it as an ace in the hole when facing large numbers of relatively weak enemies.

Here's some trivia for you guys that don't quite understand how Megiddo works: This magic uses Spirit Magic to create small water droplets shaped by Water Elementals to create lenses that focus light into laser beams that are deadly to humans even at Rank A like Folgen. Smaller water droplets are then used as mirrors to redirect the lasers toward the targets. This process is very energy efficient the attack that ends up striking the target itself uses no Magicules, Natural Energy, or Spiritrons, so any anti-magic barriers are entirely useless against the beams. It's legit multiple magnifying glass in the air that magnifies the suns rays and because light travels, the small ones are just reflecting it to different direction so he has multiple of these bouncing around everywhere.
