Your videos are always helpful! I use GarageBand bc it’s free and I’m just starting out but I love knowing what all these words like “plate” and “spring” mean (and knowing the history behind them-very cool!) bc it helps me narrow down what I want to use. Definitely seen plate reverb in GarageBand and I think spring too. Not sure about the others offhand but still, I love just knowing this stuff. Thanks so much!

No worries. 90% of music students can barely play. However, the other 10% are mean players. So you'll be around all kinds of rated players and hopefully you learn! That's what school is for!

Which microphone are you using on this video recording. Its shows very clear and wireless 😊
@MusicSequencing3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mariya, saw this comment on another video but thought I'd answer it here too.o I believe I'm either using this Rhode Video mini amzn.to/3aL82J0 or the phone's built in mic. Either way, I'm definitely mixing it afterwards with EQ, a limiter and maybe some other plugins, like iZotope de-noiser

So convolution reverb and concert hall reverb the are same?
@MusicSequencing4 жыл бұрын
This is an interesting question Dizzy! In this video I’m talking about the different “types” of reverbs but not explicitly the different “qualities” of the reverbs. A convolution reverb can certainly end up with the same “quality” as a concert hall. A digital reverb, if the algorithm of the delays is made to be so, could also have a “quality” similar to a concert hall. So both digital and convolution reverbs could sound similar to a concert hall. The difference is how it works on the inside. The convolution is using an impulse response actually recorded in the concert hall, while a digital reverb would be delay algorithms adjusted by a computer programmer until they match the quality of the concert hall. But both digital and convolution reverbs can also reproduce reverb qualities similar to springs, plates, and other physical locations besides concert halls, like a bathroom for instance. Hope that helps!
