My Mom, now 91 years young, a former Salvationist with her failing hearing, still thoroughly enjoys listening to Gospel, as do I. Thank You for posting this uplifting song of steadfast faith. Also, Bless You for having the moral fortitude not to soil this video with an advertisement! Be Well, and Stay Strong, Will

Born in 1932 in McComb, Missisippi, Charlie Jackson played Blues guitar with a vulnerability that was unhindered and musically inviting. After becoming a Christian, however, he decided to stop playing the Blues due to his conversion. He was later moved to play again, but this time, for the Lord. He cleverly combined his love for the Blues with the inspiring words of God, performing Gospel Blues for the Church. Often performing on the same Church program with the legendary Reverend Utah Smith, his bluesy style of worship impacted listeners in an unforgettable way. Jackson recorded his unique worship music with Booker Records in New Orleans, which allowed him to release numerous 45s for a period of time. In the 70s, Jackson started his own label and pressed the records himself, which included many of his previous commercial releases that were no longer in print. Uplifting and raw, this Gospel Blues Artist glorifies God with his talents, welcoming listeners in and outside of the Church. Thank you, Reverend Charlie Jackson, for all you have done to share the music God has given you!
