The Byway! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. My love for camping got me into overlanding, but the byway got me into offroading. My first real "overlanding" experience was with you as our guide, and Jeremy too. The Trailspin Jeep has been in need of an engine tear down for years now, and was just recently patched up, and I'd be lying if I didn't say this video gave me the itch to head south.

Good to see you doing a throwback trail after so long. Always nice to remember your prior overland roots and where it all started. Trails always seem harder coming back after some time. Erosion and other tracks from other 4 wheel drives take place often. I’ve seen 2-3 difficulty rated trails turn into 4-6 over the course of a few years, at least in my area.

Just got back from my own trip down, looks like we hit a lot of the same spots. Did you hike down the sinking creek trail or just drive down, check it out then leave? We hiked up the high water trail and then walked back down through the rock garden / creek, it was really beautiful.

I'm glad you liked it! I definitely couldn't have made this video without Jeremy's help. The Jeep does well in the mud with those Toyo RT Trails, and it's definitely better suited to wheeling than it is the long distance overland trips.

Ballsy to wheel those kinds of trails without rock sliders… That grill looked nice. I bought an Ötzi a while back, and I’m lukewarm on it. It does not have great air flow, the metal gets a bit deformed, and it only burns solid fuel, not propane.
