Actually, the funny thing is he's the Flashes number 1 fan. He was destined to be killed by the flash, so he goes out of his way to make it happen by making his favorite superhero's life miserable af! Even expressed in one comic while he was getting beaten halfway to death from the Flash, he said he was just happy to be able to spend time with him. Man's just a really good method actor, and I can respect a man who plays his role well.

Fun fact When barry first appeared in the comics his family was alive and his father wasnt in prison In fact it was said that he spend his holydays with his family many times All that changed when eobard appeared He isnt just an element of barrys origen he literally retconned his family out of existing Ever since then barry has had the origen story we all know
