In the video you can see that the relay goes first and then the contactor that connects with the motor. Doesn't the thermal relay go together with the motor?

You can connect the thermal relay before the Contactor or after the Contactor If u use before the Contactor than you will just need one tharmal relay If you use tharmal relay after the Contactor you will need two tharmal relay to connect So both type of Wiring you can do
