Wow, I already did that 20 years ago, with much less elaborate softwares. I actually was hoping Reaper could offer a more... "streamlined" way of doing it, but I guess old tricks still do the job ;) Thanks for all your videos !

I haven't tried it but someone said a simpler way to do it was this: (I copied the comment) You can do it faster, if you create this fx with cycle action and sws. Hope this helps.

The effect reminds me a little bit of the old pre-echo that would occur with tape print through, especially when the tape was stored tail in.

Nice! How can i do an effect as where it starts muffled and than changes to clear. As if you start with the mids and highs eq-ed out and end up with a leveled eq?

Kenny do you offer a paid monthly tutorial service ? I would be interested, especially because you put these free tutorials on here and I think you should get some kind of compensation for you time and knowledge.

Kenny is under Cockos' payroll for all these videos, he said so himself in the Q&A video. I think he should have his own patrons but don't think he can do that while being paid by Cockos.

Hello Kenny, greetings from England. I'm using Reaper to record a cover of the Queen song 'Innuendo.' This is a powerful, multi-faceted track and has been a real slog, like, two months or so, just to get the vocals as best as I can. I don't mind admitting that I'm no Freddie Mercury, but I don't do it for that; I do it for the musical challenges involved - and in this, there are many, and it calls for the odd reverse reverb in Reaper. I tried your method, but it failed, since the part I tried to reverse was actually a short excerpt cut out from a longer take, and Reaper turned the wave form image, but didn't reverse the audio, indeed it played another excerpt of that take entirely, and forwards, not backwards. Yours, disappointed from England. x

He gave you more than enough knowledge to easily solve what you're trying to do. Use your brain. If you're going to tell Kenny you're disappointed then you should be disappointed in yourself. I'm not telling you to give up, but you shouldn't attribute your own failure to someone else. Knowledge isn't free. It's come upon by giving lots of time to fundamental study, self discipline, and orderly trail and error. And I'll emphasize the word "giving" there. You don't get knowledge, you give time and attention to principal aspects of complexity. You "give" it your understanding. Kenny is "giving" his knowledge. Knowledge exists without you. "Getting" is the wrong mentality when you are learning and creating, so don't act entitled. That said, I wish you the absolute best of luck on your creative journey.
