I have an 85 Yamaha FJ600 that I've been planning on doing something like this for years! NICE JOB!

Great work bro, whoever disliked it doesn’t have creativity or the mind power to build anything

Was pointing at the brake booster knowing it was a brake booster and calling it a power steering thing:) Funny how the mind works when making videos.

Dude way cool. I have a 1000cc Honda magna I have been wanting to do this with. If you still think your intake leaks you can take it off and hook up a vacuum cleaner to it (plug all the other ports). Then use JB weld on all the seams . The vacuum will suck the weld in any pin holes and make it air tight. Awesome job though. Cheers

I'm not sure the front upper control arms are strong enough, since you removed so much. By now you should know!

Hey John, just came across your video! Kudos to you! I’ve built from scratch several “reverse” (the right way) trikes! Several years ago I built a trike using a Chevy chevette front suspension and used a similar shock setup! It worked great! I used a Honda gold wing for power! I’m currently swapping a 2008,150cc gy6 drivetrain out of a trike I built from scratch and installing a 2002 Yamaha VMax into it! You can see the entire build on my channel! The VMax is coming up! Just click on my profile pic!

That's awesome Clifford. I'm going to check out ur video. I love this stuff. Next trike I'm building will be electric with solar panels:) I've had the bug for a while but its a good bug... prolongs lifespan somehow...

So using a motorcycle engine are you getting typical mpg???
@johnironsmith44025 жыл бұрын
No it's pushing an extra 500 pounds with more wind drag. Probably losing 10 mpg, but haven't measured it.😁
@crackmonkey50125 жыл бұрын
John Ironsmith very interesting you should consider figuring out the mpg somehow and do a video over it

you built this trike but couldn't rebuild those 4 carbs? wtf?
@johnironsmith44026 жыл бұрын
Good question Sean I actually did rebuild them when I bought the wrecked bike. They were off the bike in pieces and I fabbed my own gaskets for them, (original were missing), it was a pain in the ass but better than the $100+ for OEM replacements. Got the bike running crystal perfect with them. Then the house and garage flooded and I took them apart *again* a few months later..... some non-metal parts I don't know the name of looked wrecked and they were very expensive to replace... also beyond my carb rebuilding skillset. All the replacement parts for the 4 carbs would have been more than what I paid for the bike and more than what I would pay for a running used bike. But I do love to weld and would rather deal with one carb than 4 and have to sync them. Not to mention VW carbs are pretty straight forward and $65. About a quarter of the cost of just replacement parts. And......4 separate carbs on a 4 cylinder bike is inarguably excellent for performance unless you have EFI. But for maintenance and dependability, they EFFING suck balls..... in my humble opinion.
