Hey my loves! Like this video for a part 2, there’s plenty more to react to! Hope y’all enjoy this video and I hope this benefits you in some way whether that be the reverts to come to feel less alone, those that were raised Muslim who now understand reverts a little more, or non Muslims who just get a little more insight into what being Muslim is actually like. I love you guys!!!

My dad was not abusive and actually that’s why I didn’t aspect him to reacted that way. He is always been really protective and yes attached to our culture, but I always saw him like the smartest man and the most just. It was a thunder in the clear sky when he disowned me and told me things I thought a father should never say. I’m so sorry for what u have been through, may Allah make u stronger and happier, u are really an amazing human being dear !. However I have been through, having him everyday looking at me with such a disgust and not be able to hug even my mom, I love them the most. Our relationship now it’s crazy, at the end of the school year I’ll have to go away from home and that terrifies me but maybe it’s better for them cuz they always say I am bad for their own health. I am a really sensible person and I really need my family by my side so all of this actually caused me even more depression and more doubts. Still I cannot detach from they, they are my life.

Show mercy to your father. I know how you feel when you're hearing this. Anger, confusion, depression and misunderstood. It's painful for you. I mean very painful. That's how I feel and worse because my father is Muslim. Believe me it will drive you into madness in the long run. People will not understand you. I'm 34 and been in the same boat as you. You have your way which is important for you. Better then parting and drinking and so on ( as “normal” people does) . I faced the same problem with my mother before I converted she already called me terrorist and isis, that I will go to Syria etc... and all this is because of low knowledges and tv shows only negative about Muslim. I lost contact with her but I am happy being Muslim and having my family Alhamdulillah. Wish you to be strong sister !

My grandma does not she says if I pray and read Quran she will throw me out and she is the kind the person to insult me and call me fake Muslim and say most muslims are Arab and only Arab are racist and don't think non Arab are Muslims and most Muslim men abuse women and look at Arab country. My grandma is also a person who will tell and try to make me Christian she sounds even let me speak or try to understand me. My mom is trying to force me to visit my family says Islam is a cult and agree with my grandma except my mom says she should let me pray but since it's my grandma house and am Muslim so I must accept or understand my family belief. My family is Christian and athiest. My family don't let me go masjid my mom does not even. My family hates hijab and niqab they say men force women to wear it and Islam is culture not religion at all. My family say hijab don't protect women and many Muslims are getting killed then non Muslims wearing Hijab in the world and America especially. My grandma wants me to visit her for a week she has no rooms in her house and my uncle lives there. So she would she me pray. My mom says if I leave and go Masjid or pray outside grandma might call the police on me. Imam and my friends say not to go and if my mom hates me and thorw me out because I refuse to go let her. *My dear kind hearted Muslim sister Samantha is crying* Crying from the Viewpoint of the Holy Qur’an and Traditions. A. Qur’anic verses 1. Crying as a sign of perceiving realities Allah, the Exalted, says, ﴿ وَإِذا سَمِعُوا ما أُنْزِلَ أِلَي الرَّسُولِ تَري أَعْينَهُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ الدِّمْعِ مِمَّا عَرَفُوا مِنَ الحَقِّ يقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاکْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشّهِدِينَ ﴾ “And when they hear what has been revealed to the Apostle, you will see their eyes overflowing with tears on account of the truth that they recognize; they say: Our Lord! We believe, so write us down with the witnesses of the truth.”1 This Qur’anic verse is an account of the reaction of the Ethiopian King, Najjashi, who had received and welcomed the Muslims that had migrated from Mecca to Ethiopia at the begining of the Prophet’s mission to seek safety. 2. Crying for repentance Allah, the Exalted, says in the Qur’an, ﴿ فَلْيَضْحَکُوا قَلِيلاً وَلْيبْکُوا کَثِيراً جَزَاءً بِمَا کَانُوا يَکْسِبُونَ ﴾ “Therefore they shall laugh little and weep much as a recompense for what they earned.”2 This verse of the Qur’an is an account of the hypocrites [munafiqin] at the time of the Prophet Muhammad (S) who used to avoid fighting in battles against the enemies of Islam and also encouraged others to do so, on the pretext that the weather was too hot or too cold. 3. Shedding tears of belief is a sign of wisdom Allah, the Exalted, states, ﴿ وَيقُولُونَ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا أِنْ کَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفعُولاً * وَيخِرّوُنَ لِلأَذقَانِ يبْکُونَ وَيَزِيدُهُمْ خُشُوعاً ﴾ “And they say: Glory be to our Lord! Most surely the promise of our Lord was to be fulfilled. And they fall down on their faces weeping, and it adds to their humility.”3 4. Prophets shed tears for Allah Allah, the Exalted, says, ﴿ إِذَا تُتْلَي عَلَيْهِمْ آياتُ الرَّحمنِ خَرُّروا سُجَّداً وَ بُکِياً ﴾ “When the communications of the Beneficent God were recited to them [the prophets], they fell down making obeisance and weeping.”4 5. Tears of regret are a remedy for those who have gone astray Allah, the Exalted, says, ﴿ أَزِفَتِ الازِفَةُ * لَيسَ لَها مِنْ دُونِ اللهِ کاشِفَة * أَفَمِن هذَا الحَديثِ تَعْجَبُونَ * وَتَضْحَکُونَ وَلا تَبْکُونَ ﴾ “The near event draws nigh. There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. Do you then wonder at this announcement? And will you laugh and not weep?”5 B. Islamic traditions [hadiths] regarding crying Crying and shedding tears have been given special value in Islamic traditions. 1. Tears are a sign of Allah’s mercy Amir al-Mu’minin, Imam ‘Ali (as), has said, «بکاء العيون وخشية القلوب من رحمة الله.» “The tears of the eyes and the fear of the heart (for the sake of Allah) are among the blessings and mercies of Allah.”6 2. Tears: Allah’s gift to mankind The Prophet of Allah (S) has said, «انّما هي رحمة يجعلها في قلوب عباده.» “Verily, tears are a mercy that Allah has placed in the essence of his servants (the human beings).”7 3. Tears illuminate the heart Amir al-Mu’minin, Imam ‘Ali (as), has said, «البکاء من خشية الله ينير القلب ويعصم من معاودة الذنب.» “Crying out of fear of Allah illuminates the heart and prevents a person from returning to past sins.”8 4. Tears soften the heart and bring prosperity In his last will and testament to Imam ‘Ali (as), the Prophet of Allah (S) said, «يا علي! اربع خصال من الشقاء: جمود العين وقساوة القلب وبُعد الامل وحبّ البقاء.» “O ‘Ali! There are four notable signs of misfortune and wretchedness: lack of tears, hardness of the heart, unrealistically drawn out hopes, and desire to live forever.”9 5. Tears bring deliverance from Allah’s punishment Imam al-Husayn (as) said, «البکاء من خشية الله نجاة من النار.» “Crying due to fear of Allah brings deliverance from hell.”10 6. Tears bring about a great reward from Allah The Prophet of Allah (S) has said, «ما من عمل الاّ وله وزن وثواب الاّ الدمعة، فانّها تطفي غضب الرّب.» “Every action and every good deed has a fixed heavenly reward, except tears. Verily, tears extinguish the fire of Allah’s wrath.”11 7. Tears have the value of the blood of martyrs The Prophet of Allah (S) said, «... وما من قطرة احبّ الی الله من قطرتين: قطرة دم في سبيل الله، وقطرة دمع في سواد الليل من خشية الله.» “… There are no drops more beloved by Allah than two: a drop of blood that has been shed due to sacrifice in the way of Allah, and a tear that flows from the eyes in the dark of the night due to fear of Allah.”12 www.al-islam.org/uprising-ashura-and-responses-doubts-ali-asghar-ridwani/crying-viewpoint-holy-quran-and-traditions

1 of the 12 dislikes is probably the father, and the other 11 are maybe his new wife/girlfriend and some of his stoodges. No offence to my sister. My father also disliked Islam and actully left my mother and cut off all contact with her and me as I was being raised as a muslim. The whole side of my fathers family cut off contact because they thought it would bring shame upon them that their son had married a muslim woman (my mother). Fast foward 33 years - about 7 months ago, out of the blue, we (my mother and I) recieved a letter from the British government to inform us that a legal claim my mother had made against my father for child support (In 1984!) could no longer be pursued as they were in receipt of his death certitcate and now considered the matter closed. I laughed as I'd never met the man and had moved on (cant say the same about my mother though, but thats another story). What a way to find out huh.

Let him alone. Live your own life and pray to Allah asking for his guidance for your father. Perhaps reading stories about the sahabas who faced same problems with their relatives may help you overcome this situation. Patience is the key word )) My best wishes to you and your loved ones. Salaam.

Asalamu alikum Sister your father has a problem within himself. So don't take whatever he says personal. And he has not figure it out yet and he also feels like nothing is wrong with him but rather he believes everything and everyone has a problems. I don't know your dad or know what he is but I have come across with people like him throughout my life with work and going out during the 1990. So don't worry about him make dua for him. He is not the first person to slander Islam and he won't be the last person.

Honestly I felt your dad was researching it for you to love him, and when he converted he was hoping for a lot of support and love from you, but you were a bit harsh with the it's your intention that counts. Like he felt hurt because he made a change for you and you didn't react to it, and that turned to hate and anger and rage. Maybe if you weren't too straightforward with the intention part Allah would have slowly guided him into truly believing. Idk just my opinion. Parents are very sensitive when it comes to their kids changing their religions and belief systems. I know you might hate him and he might not be the best person, but keep trying to be nice to him for the sake of Allah, maybe even talk to him when you can, he'll probably change his mind about islam gradually, and also he is mentally ill so you need to be patient with him. But muslim or not, he is your father and we, as muslims are supposed to take care of our parents, love, and respect them for the sake of Allah. May Allah make this easy for you and guide your father to faith❤️

Your Buddies to be frank with you, no. An abusive parent who tells their child they wish they were dead is not highest rank. Especially since he had nothing to do with raising her, that’s not a parent, that’s a sperm donor. Massive difference

have two advises for you sister: the frst one is to company to your father dispite he is against your bleive. you know that we are told in the coran to keep our parents company and not obey themes if they want us to disobey allah. may be allah will make you the reason your father find the right path. as muslims we should know how lucky we are cause allah showed us the right path so lets try to help the ones that still in the dark to find the light specialy our family memebers the second one get married if you can. cause that will prevent you and other man muslim like you to sin and you know that half of our religion is marriage thank you

Samantha i listen to all your video. As we know that not a single human is perfect, but, every human have his/her goods and bads in our nature. So try to give respect to your father and hopefully one day he will realize his bad behaviour. We will pray for the good relations of your father with you and your family. We know the story of IBRAHIM PBUH from the holy Quran His father answered, “Abraham, do you reject my gods? I will stone you if you do not stop this. Keep out of my way!” Abraham said: “Peace be with you: I will beg my Lord to forgive you- He is always gracious to me- but for now I will leave you, and the idols you all pray to, and I will pray to my Lord and trust that my prayer will not be in vain.” (Q 19: 46-49) Abraham asked forgiveness for his father because he had made a promise to him, but once he realized that his father was an enemy of God, he washed his hands of him. Abraham was tender-hearted and forbearing. (Q 9: 114) It is not fitting for the Prophet and the believers to ask forgiveness for the idolators- even if they are related to them- after having been shown that they are the inhabitants of the Blaze. Abraham asked forgiveness for his father because he had made a promise to him, but once he realized that his father was an enemy of God, he washed his hands of him. (Q 9: 113-114). Praise be to God, who has granted me Ishmael and Isaac in my old age: my Lord hears all requests! Lord, grant that I and my offspring may keep up the prayer. Our Lord, accept my request. Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day of Reckoning. (Q 14: 39-41)
