For those kinds of characters my headcannon for their revert au's is either they had determination to keep going at some point, linking them to the power of resets, so when something like chars ending the world and bringing it back happens, those who had needed dt such as every horrortale character (a lot of them just decided to sit back and die If I remember correctly?) Meaning their revert is just placing them back into undertale, but they can feel that something is off, but are otherwise continuing their original normal lives from before the change to their universe happened Or For things like dust or killer particularly It could be that sans or whoever else is affected is struck by the dt extractor at some point Returning their humanity Characters like dust and killer would be fixed by this because they already didn't want to do what they are doing, and hate themselves for going along with it
