I absolutely love the longbow but with the helmet buff, sentinel is better. Longbow can take on people at closer ranges easier but sentinel does more damage, has amped shots, and a hop-up to increase fire rate. So recently I’ve been using the sentinel more.

Good arguments, until next season when tempo is vaulted and skullpiercer comes back to longbow. Then sentinel will be basically useless unless Respawn plans to buff it at the same time to not be overshadowed.

I think the longbow is a lot more forgiving. You can really punish with that fire rate when someone is overexposed. But the sentinel is my fave because it's just so damn satisfying when you connect.

For me, I love the Longbow. The faster rate of fire and the larger magazine fits better with how I play. However, the Sentinel of course hits harder and, in my opinion, simply by using it more often, you train yourself to have a steadier shot. At the end of the day, they’re both great Snipers. The one that’s better, is the one that you, the individual, finds a better feel with. That’s my two cents anyways.

I love both. I do give it to the longbow though, since inventory management with having enough cells for your sentinel can be a pain in the rear. Those same cells are used for healing, so sometimes you amp up and get tapped right back and suddenly you don't have enough heals to continue the fight.

I go back and forth, though with the new season about to drop and skullpiercer about to get added back to the longbow. Add on at least my own plans of using Vantage a lot and longbow is going to likely be my preferred choice between the two. The biggest thing the sentinel has going for it is that it kinda puts you in a different frame of mind for ammo and make you try to guarantee your shots, which for me means I carry less ammo. For longbow, because I have that sort of forgiveness of not hitting because I can follow up shots quickly enough I tend to burn through ammo much more. Its not uncommon for me to want 4-5 stacks of sniper if holding a longbow, vs 2-3 with a sentinel.

this is just a semi auto sniper vs a bolt action, semi auto is always about less damage but quicker fire and the bolt action is slower but it hits way harder so its all personal preference to which you prefer, faster fire or harder hits

I think that the sentinel is a better overall experience as a sniper, but if you want a marskman rifle with some good power longbow is your choice, the thing about apex though is that it is not built to favor a sniping playstyle at all, and I say that as someone who tries to desperately make a sniper work in every fps game for the thrill of it, so if you really want the most out of a sniper, pick sentinel, because if you go longbow you might as well go straight to flatline if you want better fire rate

The real answer is both. 1 Is not better than the other its just up to playstyle. Longbow is exactly what it sounds like. It's just a bocek damage wise but you can actually put a long range sight on it. outside of that its the same damage and tracking speed. The sent does like 1.8x the damage on average. And with the difference in firing speed it's more about your team comp and how you want to play. Longbow is great for mid-long range pokes when you can get a couple hits while your team finishes the target with you. Sent great for single shot either shield breaking to waste healing of the enemy or to create a push window. There's also a slight skill element to it as the sent's fire rate and mag size mean you have to hit your shots but they're more rewarding.

It’s a hard one bro. Me and a few guys tested them and although the sentinel gives juicier shots with shield cells and hits harder, the longbow has less bullet drop, a higher fire rate, juicy iron sights, and is cheaper in arenas
