My husband just got one of these!! I love that the shift key doesn't make your pinky lift the carriage, but it lifts the "keys'.

Wow, cool video! I have just gotten one of these but there are quite a few details that are different including the way the color clicks on, 1-2 and 3 line spacing options, and the serial number is in a different place (as well as not being listed in the typewriter database Website). I'm also missing the shiny ribbon caps, but ribbons come on their own spool now so I don't think that's going to be a problem. Thanks for sharing!

Hi there! I have one of these in near-mint condition - same colour as yours in the clip. Like you, I'm impressed by the general build quality. It's just got one small issue - the ribbon colour selector works OK in the black and stencil position but jumps out of the red position unless it's held in place. There's an indent for each colour setting beneath the lever but the selector just jumps out of it. Obviously this is not ideal so I wondered if you have any ideas? Many thanks. Regards. Paul

Great video thanks. I’ve just one of these but sadly the escapement isn’t being triggered by the space at or keys, I think I have pawl issues, I don’t suppose you would mind doing a closeup of the escapement?

They are widely available. Your local office supply store might carry them. (If not, calculator ribbons will do.) And the web will be your friend. Amazon.com has an array.

The handle on the left side, with the red line, is the one that sets the line space? I just bougth one but it doesn't have the white marks

From what original model is the engineering for this Remington descended? For example, I know that Royal's standards up through the '70s owed the essentials of their mechanisms to the #10, but I've never had as clear a picture with the Remington machines.

The Remington Quiet Riter first introduced in the 50’s more then likely.
