I'm from China.In my university there's a silver painted caliber(maybe 2007) owned by a faculty.The car was undoubtedly imported by the time he bought it and it always looks as clean as a brand new car.You can definitely tell that the owner loves it very much.

Good statement! I am so sick of people spending a small amount of money and expecting to get luxury or speed of an expensive vehicle. People need to get a reality check. I think this is a nice car for the money and would not mind owning one.

Yeah some people have weird expectations on some cars. We bought a loaded '08 new...I think that it was the 2.0L with the CVT (took a bit to get used to)....had a great sound system (Alpine with sub and lift gate speakers) lots of room (more that it looked to have), you go a ton of interior room when everything was folded down...the Chill Zone worked fairly well...had 110VAC built in...was excellent in the snow (drove around a lot of people stuck with other cars)...fair amount of low end grunt off the line...really good gas mileage with the CVT (when you got used to it)...wish we got the AWD model though.......but all in all for what we had paid, it was an excellent little car...unfortunately we needed a larger car years later and picked up a Charger AWD....another great car...loads of fun in the snow too ;)

@@angusandleigh I have an all wheel drive and is running well, I have crashed it twice and fixed it, still running. Amazing in snow. People expect to pay cheap and complain. Well let them stay away from FAC, I just love their cars, the sound, I now a 2014 charger now and it turns heads ..........so the haters bring it on ...GO GO Dodge. OH....one more thing they never stay away from FCA youtube pages complaining how they would never own one, but they are there watching with jealous lol The day I tried a 2013 ford edge, had the map light that never goes off even driving. Dealership said they didn't even recommend fixing it because it would happen again, solution; drive around with the map light on, it could stay on for hours after driving. I sold and went back to my dodge haha.

He's got a point (the video narrator). If dodge had put a more powerful 4 cylinder to go in between 170hp and 300hp the car would be fine, nothing special but it wouldn't be despised so much. It's one problem is that it's unresponsive and under powered with the engine/transmission combos dodge used. I like the idea of the car so let's hope dodge fixed some stuff between the 2007 model and the 2010 model because I'm going car shopping tomorrow and I might come home with a Caliber.

yeah being under 24 sucks for insurance. do you have to HAVE TO have insurance in Australia/NSW? in michigan you have to have liability, if you get pulled over by police and dont have it it is like a $120 fine.

lol I am currently renting a 2009 caliber while my 2004 civic is being fixed. my civic has 137k miles on it and drives better than the caliber with only 32k miles on it. the caliber's steering is already WAY out of alignment (my civic's steering has NEVER gone out of alignment) and the CVT tranny is quirky and jerky (my civic's manual tranny is much smoother when operated properly). The caliber also has a rough ride, and easily gets knocked off course when it gets bumpy. I WANT MY CIVIC BACK :(

Its a pile. I have owned one for 6 years and it's junk. The engine and tranny on my 2007 SXT are fine, its everything else. The suspension sucks as i have had to replace the front ball joints, inner/outer tie rods 3x already at 125,000 miles. Wears out tires due to the front end way to fast and the poor fuel economy for a 4 cyl is crazy.

My girlfriend has an 07, it was what we could afford after she hit a deer. It's a pretty comfortable car; the seats are nice, the factory stereo sounds great, and that's about the only nice things I can say about it. Her's is the 2.0 and the fuel economy isn't bad, but no where near what her 2.5 Altima was. They seem like they're a great car when they're new, but we got it with 175K on it, and thankfully it's a temporary car.

Yeah, i will totally admit that it is a good-looking car....i think that it has an awesome shape, and that it has a very 'tough' look that most small cars lack....but the whole think was poorly executed by Chrysler. it's very cheap inside, and as i said before, it doesn't drive very well. my rental had 32000 miles on it, and would sometimes mysteriously lose power when i was accelerating. sorry to bust your caliber bubble...

I've owned a Caliber SXT for 4 years now. BIGGEST piece of crap I ever bought in my life!! I have had the suspension(both front and rear) rebuilt numerous times. A complete AC kit, O2 sensors, wheel bearings, door hinges and the list goes on. Buyers BEWARE. I think Dodge wrong named the car, instead of Caliber, it should have been CRAPILER. Just sayin'....

One huge plus is that Chrysler has been an AMAZING company to deal with when I did have a few small issues. I've been reading the comments and I believe this is a good value for money car. BUT you do get what you pay for. It's going to have cheap plastic interior - its going to rattle. But... The outside looks quite nice and it does something like 32 miles per gallon - you are not going to get Mercedes build for this price. If you want that type of build you will be looking at about £50,000.

drove this car as a rental and it was a tin can. the interior was hard plastic ugly, big steering wheel, the auto transmission shifted weirdly. I don't know why anyone would choose this car unless it was very cheap. Dodge is not necessarily known to be reliable anyway.

yeah that forced voting thing to an outsider is bizarre, but don't envy us we have Mexico and the rest of Latin America attached to us. more and more states are adopting restricted youth drivers licenses but it is for drivers under 18, and is mainly limiting the number of other youths that can be in the car with them, not the type of car they can drive. I heard that if you change a light bulb in one of these Calibers, you have to go to a Dodge specialist to remove a error code what appears after the light bulb change. This is why im never buying one. The Avenger is better.

Too many to count. Only a ten year old car and it's junk in just about every way possible. My twenty year old Chevy Malibu is in mint condition compared to this car. And I paid less for the Chevy.

Haky Shalu , as bad as it sounds these are the type of cars I look for as a home mechanic. I have a 2002 dodge neon and only paid $1000 almost 5 years/80,000 miles ago and the car still runs strong. But it's not the type of car I would recommend to someone not repairing their own rides. As long as the engine and transmission can be taken out without a hydraulic hoist and the body is not rusted to bits I love these cars when they have depreciated to super low levels. So what may be a dud to you I find it nice that I can get a car on the cheap. I find it more difficult paying $400 to $600 a month on a new car that loses thousands of dollars in the first 5 years and hundreds for the next 5. If you are buying a new car stick with a Toyota, Honda or Subaru and keep it for 200,000 miles. There's a reason why the resale value is more than their American counterparts.

what a shit car. not only does the interior wreak of horrible plastics that look like they cost chrysler maybe $5 to make, but the suspension is terrible too. it's not sporty at all. it wallows about like a boat with a mad captain. but not only that, it isn't exactly tuned for comfort either. it's not firm, nor does it iron out bumps. the combination of nasty materials and terrible suspension make this car a piece of shit. buy a golf.
