Review #50: Darkseid Tower of Darkness Playser from Super Powered Customs

If you ever dreamed of having this unproduced Super Powers playset, it can be yours in all of its towering glory. This set is massive with details faithfully produced to match the Kenner prototypes. SPC even took a few creative liberties to flesh out details not fully explored in the version we saw (such as a lava pool in front of the throne).

What’s great about this is that it was jilt exactly how you would have got it back in ‘84/‘85. And know as an adult you can customize it like you never could as a kid. Really cool.

I SWEAR I remember having this playset... I have this strong memory of having all of the figures and playing with this giant Darkseid head thing... thus HAD to have been it. There weren't any other playsets out at that time that would have matched what I remember playing with on my bedroom floor...

The gun turrets are a head-scratcher. Look more appropriate for GI Joe/Star Wars not Super Powers. Would have been cool if Darkseid’s eyes had red LED lights.
