In this video I do a burn and review the Solostove Ranger 2.0 Firepit.
I’ve had this for a few weeks this is about the 4th burn. Hopefully this burn and review can give people some insight into this product. It’s great for backyards, camping on the beach or at your friends backyard.

I LOVE my bonfire! But highly desire to get the Ranger for a bit more space savings in my fj cruiser. They give lots of heat!! Just not much heat down low for the toes

Hi nice video. I ordered my Bornfire yesterday as a set. (Bornfire, cover, Lid and Pit Pellet Adapter) Currently I own the small the Mesa, because it’s nice on the table. I take the Bornfire because you can put completely wood pices. But by the way, if it’s burns, you can but nearly anything inside, without smok :) Greetings from Germany and I like that Canadians use Celsius degrees :-)

Great glad you liked the video! That’s a great idea to order it as a set! I plan to get a bonfire too. Maybe even a Yukon we will see. But yes I like that in the bigger solo stoves you can fit full pieces of wood in them easily. Thanks for watching! Only Americans use Fahrenheit if I’m not mistaken, lol

I guess everyone has told you the wood is supposed to stay below the secondary burn holes. Great video. How many months can you swim in your pool? and what time was it, when you showed us the sky?
@Connollyoutdoors

Hi, yes I know about the wood placement. We swim from May to October then the pool gets shutdown and covered for the winter. Time wise it was in the evening around 6 pm as I recall. Thanks glad you liked the video!

The smoke coming off was because you had the wood sticking up above the top ring.
@Connollyoutdoors
@Connollyoutdoors 10 ай бұрын
Partially your right and also the reason was the kindling I used was soft wood and it gives off more smoke. Moving forward after this video I stopped using soft wood and no more smoke.

what is the mat under the stove you are using?
@Connollyoutdoors

It’s a fire retardant mat. I’ll have to check the brand name and get back to you. I use it in my hot tent under my hot stove as well. Works great!

I use the wood shavings with wax fire starters and no smell at all. Also certain hardwoods give off nice smells to overcome fire starter smells!

Your kindling must have been a type of “soft” wood. I do not get that with the hard woods I use in my bonfire.
@Connollyoutdoors
@Connollyoutdoors 10 ай бұрын
Yes it was soft wood. But I didn’t realize it until it was too late. I will make sure it’s all hardwood from now on!!

Is the spotting on the inside rust?
@Connollyoutdoors
@Connollyoutdoors 10 ай бұрын
No it’s new there is no rust and it’s never been wet I keep it very dry. You don’t want water to get inside of it that will interfere with the way the air circulates throughout the holes. 😄😎

@Connollyoutdoors
@Connollyoutdoors 10 ай бұрын
Hi, yes the shield is worth getting but only if you need to shield an area such as a pool area or a cabana or partially covered area etc. if your using it camping or on a beach it may not be necessary. So depending on where you are using it Will Effect your decision! Thanks for reaching out!
