I've always been a fan of Leaf shaped blades...I've never had it on a sword, but on my knives, it's the best all around workhorse shape. Especially with full flat grinds like the ones Spyderco makes

I like recurve blades on pocket knives for this reason!

Great blade speed with the one handed cuts, looks great in hand.

I have always wondered what the Sting would look like as a Long Sword 👍

Curious. I was always under the impression that cutting with two hands was always more efficient than one handed, especially with swords with long handles.

Two hands can slow you down if the blade is light and the point of balance is far enough back.

If you were to design your own sword, how would you do it?

This is one of my favourite sword review videos. And this sword honestly seems like a dream. If you're ever looking to get rid of it please reach out. I'd love to take it off your hands.

How do you think this would do in a cutting competition? Is the leaf-shaped blade really an advantage due to more mass at COP with something comparable in non-leaf shape? I see Valiant Armory has a two-handed leaf blade sharp with an Irish ring pommel as well as a bastard sword somewhat like this, both are in the $1500 range.

I’d love to see a comparison between this and the APOC (Dragonking/CASiberia) wasteland Gladius, they are the same blade basically, the APOC is made from leftover blanks of this profile but with a terribly bad bevel length and thickness hindering the balance, I reprofiled it closer to the guard and now it behaves more like a hand and a half blade (a heavy one), but not like a cumbersome hunk of steel like it used to, when I found this video I was like…ooooooooooh so that is why

I'm curious to know the cons of a leaf bladed sword how does it affect stabbing
@adnanhossain72002 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would affect it that much with how acute the tip is. I would say the leaf shape is the perfect middle-ground sword. It has the cutting power of a machete or single-edged sword because of its weight and "chunkiness" in the cutting portion but is also double-edged with an acute point for stabbing. It is the perfect combination of cutting power while having very minimal detriment to stabbing.
