Hey Eric, Did the owner of all your equipment bail you out of bankruptcy? You're a sell out. Couldnt make it as a farmer so now you're just a puppet

I custom guy near me had a new 4x6 NH for this season. Had major issues just traded it on a Deere. Hope you have good times with the new one.

been several around local that traded from jd too nh lol on guy actually traded one jd for a new Holland and then got a second nh cause they liked it so much. But mind you we are talking about 5x6 balers and could have a huge difference. I do think the first year or two they had some kinks to work out of them though.

Hey what are the advantages of feeding millet and disadvantages of feeding it?
@tedkahler9738
@tedkahler9738 6 жыл бұрын
big advantage its that it seems to do well in dry weather.. cheep to grow and actually produces good tonnage and good quality. feeds similar to other cereal crops would. Not really sure on a disadvantage.... Here its all about getting alot of feed off of limited acres. Its short growing season allows for it to be a mid summer crop after either rye or oats in the spring.

The stuffer is a weakness and that is the only thing wrong with mine. I never adjust my pick up wheels , I didn't get the endless belts because there had been some problems with them when I got my baler, If you were closer and didn't trade it in I'd buy your baler for a back up or for Wyatt to drag around this summer.
@tedkahler9738
@tedkahler9738 6 жыл бұрын
i have ran the endless since my first one. it was a br780 and i have never broke a belt or have had any problems with them they have made the stuffer better from the 780's to the 7090s but still not the best
@AndersonCattleCo
@AndersonCattleCo 6 жыл бұрын
I saw a baler come in with stretched belts and they were cutting them to make the baler work again, My stuffer is the early 7090 but my friend never had problems with his but he never baled as nasty windrows as I did.
@tedkahler9738

my early baler was actually over filled with hydro fluid and when it would get warm it wouldn't let the belt tension arm come far enough down had mechanic come drain a tablespoon of oil and i was on my way. you can also adjust the rear tailgate roller on the top for bets getting stretched

What is the point of hydraulic kicker vs just having the spring loaded one? Does that baler have rotar cut? What size bale does it make?
@tedkahler9738
@tedkahler9738 6 жыл бұрын
no rotar cut, makes 5X6 bales the hydraulic kicker is nice because when you open the door it drops to the ground so on lighter bales or tall stubble there is no resistance for the bale to roll out of baler. Also With it being hydraulic it has positive power to raise it up and roll or hold bales away so the door does not get shut on them.

Were you getting enough bales through this baler that it was a good time to trade it off? It looks like it has lots of life yet, but I don’t own or know much about round balers.
@tedkahler9738
@tedkahler9738 6 жыл бұрын
this baler was at a crossroads... Get ride of it while it had some value left in it or keep it tell it was not worth anything. I would rather have a payment than a repair bill Im just so spread out and hate getting 20 miles away from home and something dumb brakes. But your 100 percent right it has lots of life.
@Masseydriver
@Masseydriver 6 жыл бұрын
Ted Kahler I kind of figured that was the situation. I agree with you though, no repairs to worry about is worth the payment.

Noah Brougher on this baler I did around 2000. My last baler I did 5000 in two weeks but then I did lots of custom hay now I’m changing over to less custom hay and more farming for me... custom work pays bills but I enjoy not having to answer to anyone but me

I was wondering if u ever baled stalks with it? Maybe u have an I missed it. Don’t feel bad, I hav an 8950 on my baler which is way over kill but no trouble on hills or overheating either. Enjoy the vids
@tedkahler9738
@tedkahler9738 6 жыл бұрын
I have baled some stalks with it but it was before my youtube days LOL it worked good made a nice bale. I baled 600 bales for one guy and he had 2 break. A guy with a jd made a lower bid and stole some of my baling. Long story short the guy only picked up half the bales the jd made... hence the cheaper price per bale. I do think that was operator error though. not near enough net

I have the same baler and was thinking about getting a moisture reader for it, are they really not good?
@tedkahler9738
@tedkahler9738 6 жыл бұрын
i feel my probe (one you stick in the bale) is way more accurate... with only testing the outside of the windrow say in the morning as the due is going off it will read dryer than what it really is and in the evening it reads wetter as its only measuring the outside of the bale (or windrow) I did use if when i was new to baling hay but i feel a probe is a better solution. it does take more time to check but more accurate readings. The only time i felt the moisture tester on the baler worked great is if you were following almost directly behind the rake as then it seemed as you raked it mixed the hay and the outside of the bale measured the same as the inside. that is just my experience thanks for the comment i hope i explained my thoughts good enough for you. Dont be scared to ask any other questions.

You have a good point that makes sense. I've been using the probe reader, it is a pain to get out every time to see what the hay is doing. Thanks you.

Do you think it or a br780 would handle baling baleage?
@tedkahler9738
@tedkahler9738 6 жыл бұрын
Johnathon Sheehan I’m not really sure never baled baleage or know the differences between silage balers and normal ones .
@johnathonsheehan3773
@johnathonsheehan3773 6 жыл бұрын
Ted Kahler we had the basic br740 and it seemed to not like wet but I know in that size they made the silage specials and stuff, but I know the big ones didn't have it but I'd like to be able to make 5x6s for dry hay and then turn it down to something like a 5x4 for wet hay

@johnathonsheehan3773
@johnathonsheehan3773 6 жыл бұрын
Ted Kahler there not to popular here either and if they are silage special it's usually just an average belt Baler even though I did see peak at a Vermeer 404 pro in a field working today. The videos on the ins and outs of the 7090 have been of much help thanks. One more question about it, how much hp do you think would be good for the 7090?
@tedkahler9738
@tedkahler9738 6 жыл бұрын
how fast do you want to go? I baled with a 5250 and it was normally enough power... but needed more hp to pull hills at 10-11 mph. with my magnum now it might be over kill but it never gets hot baling and i never worry about running out of power. but id say 100-130 would be ok 150 would be better book says min of 80 pto hp
