This was a great review! :D In terms of the whole "daddy" cutscene, I did initially laugh at how ridiculous it was. Looking at it after a while, I kind of started to understand... sort of. Bayonetta had always called her mother "mummy" and Balder has not seen her daughter since she was only a year old. Maybe he just wanted to be called "daddy" only once because of never being in her life during her childhood and they won't meet again until after he has become fully corrupted. Yeah, considering her age it probably would have been better if Balder asked her to call him father but I think I understand what Hashimoto and Kamiya were trying to do. I think you're the only one I've seen who wasn't that impressed with the colorful graphics. I'm not one who cares about graphics, but the color pallet really improved the visuals significantly for me (Noatun and the real Gates of Hell looked beautiful). Yeah, there were those cringe worthy New York City cutscenes but... let's forget about that. haha
@PelvicGaming9 жыл бұрын
+AkiTheRedWolf I understand the 'father' bit would have been too formal so it makes sense. I too see what they were trying to do. I just...laughed anyways. xD Don't get me wrong the graphics where nice and I can see the improvement but it wasn't like leaps and bounds to me. I do admit, the Real Gates of Hell was actually impressive looking.

Great review! I might get a Wii U just for that game one day! About the haircuts, maybe Jeanne and Cereza exchanged their style from the first game in a way... My most action packed game was too Bayonetta. When i think about it, it's like God of war, Brutal legend, Star wars the force unleashed were great games, but Bayonetta feels so much above them in terms of design and experience.
@buddhahobo34168 жыл бұрын
You sure aren't alone there on that part, especially on literally saying the word I think everyone THOUGHT he was going to say before he went and said "Daddy". I had difficulty even watching it again lol. It would have tied in so nicely to stuff she said in the first game. I mean, I sort of understand why they did so; Cereza called her parents Mummy and Daddy, Adult Bayonetta still called her mother Mummy, it would stand to reason then she'd still call her father "Daddy", so they were tying it in that way. I just...still don't think it was the better choice.

I felt the same way about Jeanne's new design at first. I'd probs be more down for it if the physics for her hair weren't so awkward. It did definitely grow on me though, especially after unlocking her 'Uniformed' costume in-game. Her original design will probably always be one of my fav character designs ever though. I really miss that killer make-up, I'm glad you can unlock her old costumes in Bayo 2. Side note tho, I reeeeaaaalllyyyy wish Jeanne had more involvement in Bayo 2 instead of getting destroyed by that single weak-ass hit in the Prologue. It felt so cheap, she was basically out of the game other than that little cameo in the final chapter... Jeanne is best witch.
@PelvicGaming9 жыл бұрын
+ARCANA This new Jeanne look never did grow on me. Just something about her original design is just...so on point. Dont' fix what isn't broken ya know? Glad we agree. Jeanne being so weak in this game. It was really disappointing...But even still Jeanne > Bayonetta.

@PelvicGaming8 жыл бұрын
+l2method Very true. But mummy doesn't have that sexual connotation like 'daddy' does.
@l2method8 жыл бұрын
The whole point was that finally cereza made her peace with her father. Calling him "daddy" or even father seemed impossible because of what he's done in the firt game until his sacrifice at the end of the final battle. Because that lost affection had returned, I'm sure if balder stayed with cereza at the end of the game she would've still call him daddy just like she used to call her mother "mummy" as an adult.

Pelvic Gaming YES, okay I do aggree with the way they exacuted it, it's like they just slapped the extension from Bayonetta's "serious mode" hair onto jeanne's bangs.. glad you gave your opinions about 1 vs Bayonetta 2. Sometimes, in sequels, that's all that matters is that the developer didn't get into a Devil May Cry 2 rut. that crap is wasteful for a brilliant series. Keep on gaming, you stylish gal.

Tbh when I first played Bayo 2 back in 2014, I was not as corrupted by the Internet, so I didn't think there was anything wrong with the "daddy" line. I even found it quite heartbreaking. Of course, now it's kinda hard to listen to without instinctively flinching bc that word has been ruined forever.

the most action packed, hmmm Maybe Doom 2016. Its got the energy of a fast paced character action game like Dmc 3 or Bay, cuz u have to move all the time, and not use cover. The heavy metal music adapts to what your doing ,which is usually pretty brutal. Highly recommend it even if your not into first person shooters

Love your Channel & your Review Style! ♡ Bayonetta 2 (+1 Combo Pack) single-handedly made me ADORE my Wii U purchase - such a FANTASTIC experience! I agree the "Daddy" scene had a weird tinge to it, which is saying a LOT for a series that THRIVES on weirdness. However, Child Cereza went on & on about "Mummy," in #1, so I just took it as the LOGICAL companion term for Balder to request, here. ●○

+Pelvic Gaming lol it's fine i know you must be busy, and to answer your questions ;3 i personally never had an issue with the difficulty, there's a hard mode and then an even harder mode you can unlock, also i never had in issue with the jet level lol, just spam the shit out of the melee charge attack, also to answer your question in the end spoilers kinda i guess i felt daddy was fine, yes it was cringey and i laughed too but father would have been way to formal i mean he basically died and wanted affection from his daughter once, and changing father to daddy is also pretty symbolic, Balder in the first game was "oh we must resurrect jubileus and i will use my daughter to get it, call me father" and balder here was like, "oh shit i lost my wife, i've been possessed by evil and i missed my daughters whole life, i made so much mistakes, please once call me daddy"
@PelvicGaming9 жыл бұрын
+luckylombre Busy with UNDERTALE. *Obsessed* Haha noted. I plan on going back and getting at LEAST a gold on the final boss. I 100% understand. And that makes complete sense. It is rather formal, but daddy really through me off. The symbolic sense was there, hands down but damnit the word 'daddy' has just been ruined for me.
@poptopbandit33337 жыл бұрын
Love this game, and no you're definitely not wrong, It's as cringy as it is hilarious as it is emotional. That said I think aside from the obvious sexualization of the word Daddy, I think another potential reason they might shy away from Father is because of the religious connotations behind the word, as Balder is also technically an incredibly powerful religious figure. So hype for Bayo3 and I look forward to seeing how it turns out and what you end up having to say about it!

Pelvic Gaming Okay, okay. I beat the game and I watched your review. Definitely want to compliment you on the great review again. To all the people reading my comment now, don't read any further if you haven't finished Bayonetta 2. My comment will be spoiler-ish. To start off with the ending of your review: Agree with that ''daddy'' shit. I'm probably fucked up like you when it comes to that word. I'm imagining something a lot more dirty with that word, so when Bayonetta said that.....I laughed. I couldn't take it serious. It definitely should've been ''father'' and not ''daddy''...... Anyhow. I have to say, if this was my first hack n' slash game, then I would've rated it a 9.5/10 like you. But this game didn't do much for me. I enjoyed what it was, but around chapter IX I was kinda forcing myself to beat the game as soon as possible. Don't get me wrong, they definitely added more to the game compared to the first. They definitely went a more ''bigger is better'' (don't you dare...) route with all the huge epic bosses. I get that, but....I've seen this all before in previous games like God of War, Devil May Cry and Dante's Inferno. And...to be honest...they did it better imo. The game felt a bit rushed The chapters were short, so the game felt short. They were throwing in boss fights a lot more this time around, a bit too much If I say so myself. I also didn't feel anything for the characters. I understand their role, but I felt nothing for them. I played this game on the highest available difficulty (which unlocked an even crazier difficulty level after I beat the game) and it was cool, it was fun. BUT...that's it. It wasn't amazing. I was mostly following the enemy's attack patterns and once I learned those, I was dodging and mostly doing the Y combo's. I mostly used the sword, but once I got the scythe, that was it. That one did the most damage. The one thing I did like and I was kinda hoping for: A twist where we got to play as Rodin or if he turned evil and Bayonetta had to fight him, but then again...he would never lose against her. He was a total badass. That dude is on a whole other level. He would destroy everybody in that universe. The game is fun, it's cool, but nothing more than that. I'd give it a 7/10.
@PelvicGaming9 жыл бұрын
+Turan “From38” X (lol " Don't you dare....) I think they had better bosses int he first one that could at least compare with GoW. Cause GoW, (it's been a while) from what I remember they nailed it in the boss department. It was always epic. To be fair, Bayonetta has always been a short game, so I didn't mind it. I felt the replay value to get higher level trophies was good. Actually I kind of liked the short chapters, for this game anyways.I will say the rush in story didn't give certain characters enough time to shine. Ex. I love Jeanne but in this game it was like...she made a cameo. Even with Loki I wasn't moved by him. so I'll agree to that. I stuck with the sword. The scythe was too slow for me. :P But I understand your rating. Especially if you played Devil May Cry, I hear this is just an imitation.

The things that were flat out better in bayonetta 1 than 2 is the armor chip mechanic from the first game that allowed you to juggle enemies longer and they didn't randomly counter your moves like in 2. The music was far better in the first game as well (you may call me father is so amazing). The final boss in bayonetta 2 was trash compared to bayonetta 1(bayonetta 1 has one of the best final bosses I've ever played) And the cutscenes in bayonetta 1 were more entertaining and bayonetta was more of a badass too. Nothing beats the scene from bayonetta 1 when she uses the gasoline truck to catch that one boss on fire with help from a pissing baby angel. In bayonetta 2 almost all of the cutscenes had her getting beat up or failing in some way. Disclaimer: I think bayonetta 2 is over all better when it comes to gameplay and the weapons but I only harp on the sequel because bayonetta is one of my favorite series of all time. I'd still give it a 9/10.
