My older model B&D single brew is still working after 16 years. I use white vinegar every 6 months to get rid of the hard water buildup and the small 4 cup paper filters.

I bought 3 of the B&D coffee makers for me and college kids. All 3 have stood the test of time and made thousands of cups between them. Pouring water into it is a major pain due to the tiny space you have to aim for. You have to have a steady hand. Best to use one hand to pour and one to steady the cup. The other trouble is the the bottom of the funnel is flat so coffee drips for a very long time after it is done brewing. I have to stick an empty cup under it to catch the drips after I take my cup. Oh, and lastly, if you use a standard cup, the coffee will splash up out of the cup and unto the coffee make and counter. I have a plastic cup that I use as a platform for a standard cup so the coffee doesn't have to drip so far. Other than those 5 things, it is a decent little coffee maker 🙂

I like the 16 once but it’s kinda on the cheap side of plastic it looks like so is this non toxic I wondered? It’s certainly more affordable than most how does the Coffee taste?

No Keurig cups. Loose grounds or "soft" pods only.

All you would need to do is open the Casey cup and pour the coffee into the basket. I think that would work.

i bought more than 6 of these. They all malfunction after about 7 months. THe unit shuts off prematurely (half way through the brewing process). Pain in the arse!

do you have hard water? if so you might need to descale more often

I have an earlier version of this coffee maker that has been working with no problems for about 8 years. I use a paper basket filter instead of the mesh filter. Personal preference, makes a “cleaner” cup of coffee.

Thanks !@@TacomaJ51 i actually use a filter also (round 4 cup filter you can buy at Dollarama) . I figured out the problem. I needed to clean the unit with a descaler. It works perfectly now. I now use a descaler solution for coffee makers once every 3 months. No more issues! Thanks
