I just bought one of these. 1. Do you have to release the pressure? 2. Have you had any problems yet? 3. Have you had to clean the anode yet? 4. Can I borrow your husband to come install it for me? LOL Thanks for the video!

1. Not sure what you mean, I don't think so 2. No 3. No, haven't checked it 4. Haha!

The pressure release valve at the top has to be vented out. If the anode goes bad, the unit will be stuck in heating mode and it can cause the unit to explode. You should ask your husband to check it out.

Thanks for your review, very helpful. Could you please confirm with your husband whether he installed this as a dedicated supply (cold supply water in) or as a booster (hot water supply in), i.e., is it providing all your hot water, or is it supplementing hot water from your main water heater? If you're using as dedicated - is the 2.5 gallons typically enough? Do you find yourself running out too quickly in certain cases? Thanks!

We installed this on the hot water supply. It's a stop gap to fill in the time for our hot water from our main tank to get to the kitchen. We have the small tank at at hotter temperature so I can tell when it runs out. It would not be enough water for me, but we have a septic tank and we like to run plenty of water down the drain to keep the system flushed. This would be enough if you are being very conservative. When I do dishes on the boat I use a tiny fraction of the water that I use at home.

The main reason I want to use something like this is to make my dishwasher water scalding hot, do you think this is a better option that the tankless kind?
@CharmedLifeReviews Жыл бұрын
In my experience, tankless water heaters do not get very hot. There may be models that are more powerful, but the ones I have seen were for hand washing. I think dishwashers use about 6 gallons per cycle so you would need to factor that in to the size of water heater you need. We just use ours as a stop gap until the water arrives from our main tank. Good luck!

so is it only 2.5 gallon for one use? after 2.5 gallon it turns cold right?
@CharmedLifeReviews6 ай бұрын
We have ours connected to our home's hot water line. So when the 2.5 gallons is out then the hot water from the main tank has arrived at the kitchen sink! Since we've installed it, I've always had hot water in the kitchen without waiting for the hot water from the main supply.

This exactly what we did with ours -love it! -No more wasted water getting hot to the sink. -Half the power a tankless needs having to heat from 'cold all the way up to hot. (Just a regular outlet!) And in our house the feed from the main water heater is gas which saves us again! :>)
