I enjoyed watching this video from 8 years ago, with a younger short haired Dacob but amazingly as mature as today's long-haired youngster or "vampire" as you say, an old soul would say if I believed in that, because I'm like that too, and I continue to marvel at your ability to tell details and stories linking them with concepts and emotions, your general culture is enviable, which I assure you, that is not something common nowadays, in addition to your charisma, which is mezmerizing. For this reason, I believe that being a creator and communicator is your mission in life, it is as natural for you as breathing, I had to take a public speaking diploma at the university to lose my fear of speaking in public when I was young. You may never see this comment on a video this old, but I still felt I had to put it here, or you may see it at the exact moment when you need to remember how valuable you and your content are. Ive said this before on your no.5 Leau review that i watch the same videos of yours ALL THE TIME. I bought eau Vive after watching this and at times i just love revisiting this video to hear your poetry. I also think its the best Chance and i love how you suggested to layer this over other scents like Misia! You are my favorite youtuber because you dont edit your videos and just let your poetry flow. Funny thing is that I didn't care much for Chance until if smelled Eau Vive! I can't wait to try it with my lotion...it will most likely hit it out of the park for me then. I had them at breakfast at the Excelsior Hotel...what an introduction to my favorite orange in such an elegant and iconic hotel. I could feel Maestro Fellini smiling down on me.

+Lanier Smith Thank you Lanier :) Fellini would be smiling! Of course he would! and you know that Sicilian blood oranges are the best! I am sure you had them, even though in Rome! The excelsior would only use the best! ;) I do believe they use a different type of blood orange for fragrances, perhaps a non edible one... but I might be wrong. Eau vive is really beautiful! Layered with your lotion you will get so much more out of it, especially longevity and depth when the base notes cick in! That iris mixed with cedar and vetiver on a base of lotion on the skin just turns so deep and baroque on me! LOVE IT!!! Next step... the infamous pigeon blood rubies ;) xoxo

It’s my favorite in the line. It has much more „life“ in it than the others. It also lasts much longer and evolves really nice. I got a lot of compliments when I wear it. Never happened to me with eau tendre, which to me smells rather uninteresting, blant and girly.

Great review and video. This is the first in the Chance line that I liked as well and I think it's under-rated. The grapefruit and orange top notes hooked me in at first sniff. I can smell it hours after applying as well and enjoy it as the scent evolves on my skin. I've actually been wearing it in cold weather as well as hot. I really liked the commercial for it too! I wish there were more creative ads like that for perfume. Totally fun and original. After watching this, I think I'm going to buy a bigger bottle in case they reformulate... Kicking myself for not buying the bigger bottle!

I watched one of your other videos when you mixed Misia with Eau Vive and thought that I would give it a try. Thus, I went out and got a sample of Eau Vive. Now, I'm in love! I tried Chance once or twice before and did not care for it, so I overlooked Eau Vive. While listening to your review on Eau Vive, I sprayed my sample on for the full experience effect. and that creme you showed is from Weleda, which is a wonderfull brand for comestics, a natural, organic, german brand, i love weleda, everything is amazing, try the Musquee Rose oil, is incredible, and also, if you put a perfum on top of the skin after the musquee rose oil of weleda,, it makes longer the fragrance, and it fits specifically with the chanel fragrances, i know by experience, because i use that oil since many years now.

Oh Dacob…this one really surprised me! I was totally expecting not to like it at all. I received a sample from Chanel with my recent purchase, sprayed it on my moisturized arm (moisturized skin is definitely best) & BOOM the citrus notes hit me in a very good way. I don’t like Chance at all…smells like lemon furniture polish on me, but Eau Vive smells like intoxicating fruity deliciousness! This will be my next purchase in my ever expanding Chanel collection ❤️

Thanks a bunch for the tips combining Eau de Vive with sand thorn cream. I know this cream 🧡 my family already a fans of Weleda. We use the shower cream, hair tonic, body butter. Weleda has a unique & special fragrance, I don' think every sandthorn cream smell the same, only for this from Weleda because they have specific scents.

Did you know that Weleda has a quince cream which I think you could combine with Chance Eau de Tendre since those also have a quince scent 💗

The dry down of this on my skin is a little similar to the dry down on my skin of Chanel Allure EDP. But I like the whole package of the dry down of Allure EDP on my skin (vanilla sweet - woody) than the Eau Vive (too masculine). I’m waiting to get the Misia and will try to mix (as your recommendation). If that doesn’t work for me, I might end up giving it to my husband.

Since u layer it with a creme... I said to myself, let me put one of my oils that I have. I love oils too. I try to purchase oils to pair with the perfume that I already have. But, I honestly forgot... that I had Chanel # 5 Leau . It smells so good and I think it will even last longer on my skin. Thx for the tip😁

Using moisturizer is a great tip. I actually make sure to always use an unscented body cream or lotion so my perfume doesn't clash with it and so that it has something to 'grip' onto. It really makes a huge difference in the lasting power. I also have alligator skin so I need it to not crack lol.

Hello Dear Dacob, so today i am wearing the Chance eau de toilette that was gifted from Chanel and I wanted to share that this is something i ended just keeping in my travel bag to wear during the day, so that i feel like a better version of myself. So I know this is a different perfume from what you are reviewing...but is it somewhat similar? it is strongly citrus, conventionally unisex. perhaps the citrus is what is regarded conventionally unisex and reminds me of the CK One that i once loved when I was 18 @ Berkeley. So 90s. It is not a show-stoppa but it is like a keeping it together perfume. kind of nonchalant kind of clean, but classy (like you know what you are doing). Anywhoo booboo hope all is well. Very nice job on the review as always.

On the first hour I love eau Vive the most out of Tendre and Fraice, but this dries down horrible on me. Not nice citrus but extremely bitter smell. Anyone has got the same chemistry problem like me? So I got eau Fraiche instead which I love all the notes.

+Daryl Poh Hi Daryl. Eau Vive is not a heavy and strong fragrance. Its drydown is woody but still there are no heavy or cloying ingredients in it so I would say to try it first before purchasing.
