It is time to review, organise, declutter and decide which bags to sell from my over 40 handbag collection! I recently shared a video talking about having too many handbags, and I still believe this! It is time to go through all of these bags, declutter them, review them and decide which ones I am going to sell and let go of to bring my collection down to a size where I actually love and use all of my bags. There are bags from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermes, Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Coach , Ateliers Auguste.

My 2 cents: have I ever sold a bag and regretted it? YES! I’ve even repurchased some! Is there currently a bag on my shelf that I look at and say, boy do I regret not selling that in 2021? No. Not a single one. Sell very very carefully, and only after a lot of thought. Having a lot of bags isn’t a crime.

100% agree!! I only regret bags I’ve sold, never bags I’ve kept! That’s why I don’t sell anymore lol I’ve slowed down purchasing bc I don’t have any bags I’m willing to sell 🩷 especially my Chanel bags, those are never leaving me 🖤🤍

I wouldn’t let go of any of the pieces in the maybe pile until you are certain that it’s time for them to go. In my own collection there are bags that I only wear once every three or four years because of how specific the occasions are that I wear them in, but I’m always happy that I have them when I do.

I can honestly say that any bag you are thinking about maybe selling now you will eventually sell even if you decide not to do it now. Parting with things we love or have loved is overwhelming and our heart strings can make us feel more attached to them when we are deciding to let go. I would sell every maybe bag now because you are just prolonging the inevitable to try and quell that uncomfortable feeling.

It’s so hard letting go but the decision making is the hard bit. Once you’ve decided then I don’t think you’ll miss them. Some beautiful bags. I wouldn’t let the red caviar mini go. It’s too beautiful!

I understand the difficulty of deciding on letting go of bags especially since you have very gorgeous and some rare bags. In the last year, I have been very mindful before adding a bag because I don't like to let go of bags. There's bags that I don't use but I love them and they bring me joy. Also, I have them and already spent the money so I just keep them.

I relate to this video so much! It’s so hard to part with my bags. I’ve been debating parting with one for a while now … it was my very first luxury bag, an LV. I never use it, it doesn’t fit my lifestyle anymore, and I don’t love it. But when I get close to possibly selling I back out. I think it means too much to me to sell. Good luck with your final decisions! Whatever you decide to do you have thought it out really well and you will be happy with the outcome.

I only have 16 lux bags and was itching for a long time to sell. Then season change and bags on the chopping block became useful and reminded me why i bought it in the first place. I haven't let go of any yet but there's a few that I've been thinking for over a year now of letting go because it's annoying to use for for reasons of chain is so heavy or too small for my essentials.

It’s so easy for me to just sit back and look at your collection and tell you what to keep and what to sell but I’m not the one carrying these bags. You know your own style and you know what bags you reach for and what bags you don’t. I prefer the Chanel tweed over the raffia bag just because of Chanel’s history of their tweeds but you obviously like carrying the raffia bag more. Just follow your gut like you have said before in your last video. We fall in love with items and we also fall out of love with them too.

best way to style a sequined bag is to wear something casual and just make it the focus. my neon yellow fendi baguette i just wear a lot with jeans and a white tshirt. i like the chanel multi-color tweed over the raffia. I had no idea you had that coach tabby. Christmas jumper bag is fun.

My advice is keep what you love even if you haven’t worn it in a few years. I’m carrying a 1995 LV that I loved but didn’t use for 20 years because I had a lot of midsize bags- now it’s my daily go to. If you don’t love it then get rid of it but sit on the maybes. You have a lovely collection - my favorite color is bright pink so I love to see them all. Just listened again to the ending about letting go. You’re already letting go of 5. Do those first and wait at least another year on the maybes. Again simply my reaction to the choice at hand ❤

As I too have a very large collection… when it comes to selling I found that in deciding… I actually have my hubby remove the few I am thinking of buying and ‘put away’ for a certain time frame. So I miss any of them? Usually NO. I too have repurchased bags I have sold ( I belong to a luxury TRADE group )where until I see it come up for trade.. I was happy to have traded. FOMO for sure!!! Great look at them all Amelia! You did really really well choosing ones to go! think the Chanel fuschia mini crush with the ball should stay if you let the raspberry reddish one go. Because then it will leave you with only one Chanel dark pink colored mini in the chevron lambskin and since you don’t like wearing that one often, you need an alternative. All the rest I say you have other similar bags that you love more.

I have sold on some of my bags in past two years. I have to say I have never regretted letting them go. But I have taken a big hit. I don’t rotate my bags as often as I should or would like to. But good lord I do love to look at them. ❤

I used to wonder how you wore so many raspberry/fuscia bags differently. Then i got a capucins and realized yes its an entirely different bag much like the petit malle. Even though same color they're a different vibe than the chanel mini. And now when you explained you used one Chanel mini over the other to protect the lambskin, that makes sense to me. Specially with chanel prices and downwards quality. Makes sense to have two to alternate over wearing one to the ground. Yes it's excessive for whom doesn't have them but since you've already got them, i don't see a reason to downsize them. I would perhaps not get more fuschia ones but it is your favorite color so it's a tough ask. I'd still keep the pink twist and wear it for like the park with the kids (meaning, not worrying about it in the least) i would also keep the yellow one and wear it to the beach hahaha but i know, who would wear such and expensive bag to have it be destroyed? In my perspective that money is spent. I never sell bags, so to me that money is gone so when i realize im not too into a bag anymore i just wear them to death and put them on the floor, wear them in the rain and eat ice cream at the park and not worry about them at all! Bit crazy i know

The yellow saddle (obsessed) and the seasonal, tweed, and raspberry Chanel are 😍 I sold off a few bags, honestly haven’t missed them. A miu miu, Prada and still have a Chloe I probably need to drop the price on. When I’m not using them, I just picture them as little stacks of money I could use on other things. 🤣

I think the color block should stay. It has a casual look and the fabric (at least on camera) looks like denim. Denim is on trend but it’s classic for summer. I enjoyed seeing your collection. The teal Chanel is my favorite. It looked fabulous with your outfit.

Ok in the maybe pile, maybe you want to keep the raspberry in caviar one which you do not have many and nowadays Chanel do not produce a lot of caviar handbag anymore. This is very timely, I am in the process of doing the same thing. I am making a list (and it is out of control) and looking at it twice but I have come up with some. I am not using too many. I love but it doesn't make sense so if I have never used it or rarely used it then they are up for consideration. The only exceptions are those that I bought with the intention the use would be rare.

Just an outsider’s opinion but I think you should sell all the maybes. If I’m honest I’d also put one of the orange and straw bags (because you now have three orange bags), the pink lady Dior (because you don’t wear it), and the magenta and malachite Capucines (selfishly because I want her) for sale as well🙈

Hold off on the Chanel Graffiti. I think it is so you as is the LA one. You can always let it go next year. I’m not sure if you would swap out the Pharrell Speedy for the Chanel…they are so different to me but you know you. I’m with you and I luv the Pharrell speedy..I think you will get some good wear out of it. Not sure if I helped cause I have you keeping an extra one lol!

Advice from the peanut gallery: I would say having a bag to protect another bag that causes pain/discomfort is probably not the smartest (with my medical professional hat on) so I would let go of the coco crush lambskin mini. Maybe hold off on the graffiti reissue until you’ve had the other sequin longer if you think it may replace that but then again having said that, not much use in 2/2.5 years! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I love red so I would definitely keep the red caviar mini! 🤣 but then again that’s me!

If the goal is to downsize the collection, I would sell all the maybes, except perhaps the Chanel caviar raspberry red one because it seems like the more usable/ hardwearing. You have said before that you had thought about selling the blue coral one because you don’t wear it much and if the coco crush is heavy it makes it probably a bit less enjoyable to wear (plus you have other bags in that color family that you seem to prefer)😊 I have never regretted selling something (as long as I got an ok price for it)

I would keep the Chanel colour block bag as you don't know yet if the LV speedy will take over from it and so could really regret selling it, and I would keep the cococrush one as you do say you use that a lot - but I would sell the other three if they don't make your heart leap and you're not using them as they're just going to sit there x

Do you buy on line mostly? What department stores or boutiques are near you? We have no big department stores that sell luxury. I'd have to go to Galway to brown Thomas. Its a small BT. I don't have time to go to Dublin. I don't like buying on line.i go to ballbofey for shoes sometimes but mcelhinneys dont have much of a bag section. If you could give me some suggestions. I say sell all 10 in those two piles. They’ve had their time and I don’t think you’d miss them after they were gone. Just my thoughts. But do you. That way you’ll be happy. As for me I have 20 LV bags and one velvet pink Gucci bag. I love all of them and only regret selling two. My Eva and my reverse mono Métis. All others happily rehomed.
