Absolutely! I love these and think they look quite fancy, bit more special, but also love the new Espresso colour in the granny square yarn. Very exciting! :)

Thank you so much for doing this tutorial, now I can go ahead and make one with ease as I don't always find reading patterns that easy. I am really pleased that they have listened to previous users of the all in one yarn and have decided to add extra yarn to the last round, instantly takes the stress away! Plus, the last 3 rounds being in the same colour means you don't have to try so hard to meet the colour change all the time, so again, more relaxing and less stressful, very smart improvement!! Thanks :) I feel perhaps they also noticed that others were using the original all in one yarn to very cleverly make other squares besides a granny square, such as African flowers for one, so it's nice if they were "inspired" by those people as well! :)

Very clever of Red Heart! I just crocheted the regular Red Heart Field of Daisies Blanket pattern a few months ago and I loved it. I am probably the only one who enjoys sewing in my ends after each color change, lol. I don’t think I would have enough patience super controlling my tension for this type of pre-measured color changing yarn. It is amazing, though; just not for me. I like to use up my stash when I do squares.

When I'm using the granny square yarn, I also pull out all of the color I'm working on, so I can see where the color switch is. Maybe I imagine it; but I swear I change my tension a teeny bit based on what I see, to make the change land in the perfect place.

That is great about the last color being more I never had enough of the last color to be able to finish the last round on the granny square yarn no matter how much I tightened up mu tension and/or changed hook size even though all the other rounds worked out perfectly. I got so frustrated that I just added on to the last color with the same color from another ball of the same color and finished like that so that all my squares were the same and not wonky and squished up and there was enough to weave on as well.

I think it would look better if when you switched to the pink it was done in the back loop so the flower petals look more defined rather than “hairy” looking around the edges.

Thank you so much for making this suggestion. brilliant!! I have done this before but not for a while so for whatever reason this idea hadn't occurred to me so I am very grateful that you shared this here, that helps a lot! I tried it and really like the definition of how it looks and with the petals also having a nice smooth curve above them from doing it this way, so thanks so much for your helpfulness! :)

You are correct about the best hook size as a 5 mm, H. When I did the Granny Square ball, I used the recommended 5.5 mm hook, and I got hand pain. :( For mercy’s sake, they should reprint the paper band to a 5mm. 4.25 G is too small. I ended up with excess yarn. Your video confirmed my experience, so thank you.

As i was watching the 5 petals to 4 sides, i wondered, "how does one figure out the change in shape"? Do you experiment with yarn or a diagram? Circles to squares, pentagons or hexagons to squares...the engineering part of creating crochet or knit pieces is fascinating!

um..Mikey..?? if you did a magic ring you wouldn't waist yarn making those chains...you would also make the ring closer to the end to allow the closing of the circle..
@nadiacusan3799Ай бұрын
too expensive, plus you have to block no way josee what a crappy yarn
@TheCrochetCrowdАй бұрын
Yarn is never the right price for everyone. It's the biggest complaint about yarn itself. Even when it's value oriented like this brand, it's still not cheap enough for some people.
@CraftHarlotАй бұрын
You should be blocking your squares anyway.
@alwayslearning9272Ай бұрын
Perhaps wait for it to be on sale, and then you can think about it in the meantime. I personally am very grateful for these clever ideas, and I feel they listened well to others who used the previous one and found other ways to use it, such as an African flower etc??
