REVIEW & demo of the Lishi key cutter using a Yale key

Great demonstration and review of these cutters. I have one and came to the same conclusions. I did file my key at the end to get a smoother operation and wider cuts to suite the pins of the Aussie Lockwood. It still saved a heap of time from hand filing a key from scratch. Well worth the purchase. With the back of the key not sitting flush against the cutter I put in a thin metal shim to help stop the twist or angle of the cut. Just add it to the vice grips or balance it when lining up the keys. Thanks for this video, cheers

3:26 maybe by putting the key on the flat side and not the side with wave will help to cut it without jiggling around😂

I have wondered if those Lishi key snips would work on European profile key blanks, it seems they do.... well sort of. I wonder if they'll hold up with repeated use on our profiles 🤔 I guess time will tell. Good review. If I see a set going cheap I might pick them up. Cheers Dmac 👍🍻

I think they'll hold up well, hardened steel vs brass. Certainly for my purposes anyway. I still have many of the blanks from you to make use of 😁👌🏼

These look cool. Glad to see ya do a review on em. Not that I don’t trust the rest. But I’d definitely take ur word for it. Only seen one pair that snapped in half . Guy said he tried taking way to much to many times. Said little nips😂. Though these are a little differently made I think. Though it’s been a year in a half since I seen that video. Seems like their may be 2 different sets.... the original lishi that's 70 bucks and knock off thats 30 bucks. The logos are different I noticed...... im not sure if that's the case, but I think I'm going to get the 70 dollar ones just to be on the safe side

@Dmaclocksport hey do you have any videos how about lock disassembly / gutting? I really would like to get into that more and enjoy what I can already do but unless they're screws or some easily obvious visible way I don't know how to do it like I know they've got pins and a lot of them that you got to use punches to get out but that is the sum total of my knowledge I can't help but feel like you know how and are really good at it I've seen a lot of the stuff that you've made you're very skilled obviously and comfortable with seemingly, ALL things lock related
