Orange managed to come up with one huge sleeper of a bass on their first try! That tone is so old school-rich and full, liked that they took the Fender P-Bass pickup configuration and basically married it to the classic Gibson Les Paul design. Gonna be interesting to see what else they can come up with now that they're officially entering the bass market...

Thanks for the review. Well it is a really nice sounding bass except head dive caused by the body design. May be a change of light weight tuner would help a little. Any way for this price range it is quite good.

@@sarahwilson7983 Better late than never right? I love it. It's stock tone is warm as hell and it feels great to play. I ended up swapping out the stock bridge for a hipshot kickass high mass bridge to get a slightly darker tone but not too much because the humbuckers bring just enough warmth to cut through the wall of sound formed by my friends and I when we jam.

I have had dreadful experiences attempting to acquire "vintage" gear off Ebay,craigslist..etc. You wind up paying way too much for something all beat to Hell and requiring repairs costing even more funds. I really dig brand new instruments that have classic vintage mojo and tone. This bass looks and sounds awesome. Reminds me of something I would expect from Eastwood or Dipinto.

That body looks a lot like the Decision bass by Reverend. Decisions are nicely built; solid without being back-breakers. This O bass seems worthy of an audition!

Wish Premier Guitar would bring back Steve Cook's regular column. His insights on how to approach the bass made this guitar play suck a little less at the instrument, not to mention the great advice on touring and being a better bandmate and musician in general.

I just ordered one. It was on pre-order but I figured I'll have it in a few weeks to a couple of months. I just found out I probably won't see it until at least April 2021! Totally not happy about that 🤬
@Grayjacket113 жыл бұрын
did you end up getting it? I'm interested in one of these but I'm not even sure if they're still in production...
@keithjackson49903 жыл бұрын
@@Grayjacket11 Hey James, after I heard nothing from AMS in April I called Orange and was told they hadn’t restarted production yet on the O bass because of China issues and Covid. They also wanted some updated elements to be in the basses and would probably be looking at October 2021 before I might see something. As much as I wanted one, that would put me over a year that I’ve been trying to get one. I canceled my order and right now I think I’m about to pull the trigger on an G&L Fallout short scale bass. Probably an American made that goes for $1299 but their import Tribute Fallout doesn’t seem bad either and it’s $599.00. I really wanted something that can pull off a P-bass well and the G&L seems to do that but also has additional tones as well. Good luck🎸

Deet Cologon That is a pretty outrageous comment since this is a cheap Asian knockoff of a Fender P. And there is no more recorded bass guitar on the planet than a Fender P.
@paniccleo8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, some people really like the P-bass sound. I personally do not greatly like P-bass tone. I'm more of a J-bass guy. From what I have heard of these basses, however cheap they may be, I like their sound better than a Fender P-bass. That is all my comment said, so I'm gonna have to disagree with how outrageous you think it is. It's opinion.

I see people making this comment a lot on this guy's videos. What actually is it about his playing style that makes you think that he's not a real bassist? I can't fault this guy, he's running through all the features of the bass, he's playing through all the settings, what's the problem?
@nitemareman18 жыл бұрын
Dandaman V Just listen to it. He plays like a guitar player. He doesn't have that rhythm like a bassist has. His vibrato is goofy. He pulls the notes sharp. He doesn't play like a bassist. That's all there is to it.
