The Metal Front was originally to designed to shield the guitar and reduce hum. The design found success in more ways than one. Not only did it reduce noise, but Danny O'Brien's beautiful engravings etched the guitar's way into history. These became a Zemaitis signature model.
These 2nd Generation models feature a nato body and neck, rosewood fretboard, 25" scale length, 24 medium frets, D2 Classic humbuckers, and MH-1904Z tuners.

Just got a Z22 this week..Two P90s. Love it. Neck perhaps too narrow for me but lovely guitar. I'm used to an old Le s Paul Junior. Beautifully finished guitar.....I d recommend,at the right price.

Nice guitar. Nice playing, too. I think the price is reasonable. I'm told that in the 70s a hand made Zemaitis guitar was around $1K, which is equal to about $6K today.

Very cool, Korean or not. 7lb . nato (South East Phippine "Mahogany" ), not bad compared to 10lb LP. Wonder how much the metal top influences the tone. Sounds great with the slide.

I just got the A24MF Dragonheart model. The more expensive models use African Mahogany. They're not inexpensive that for sure.

You know, years ago I made enquiries, had the req'd money and even sought a contact address for Tony Zemaitis, but got cold feet about the idea of approaching him to make me a Ronnie Wood 3 pickup model Discfront. Within 2 years he had retired and then eventually - and sadly - passed on. US$2240 seems a pittance to the originals.

Companies throughout Asia have been making great hand made instruments for many generations. With your eyes closed, and using only your hands and your ears you would know instantly that you were playing a very fine instrument.

Korean made are top notch instruments for certain! PRS se, LTD 1000 series , Gretsch electromatic (hollows) and others are Korean made.
