Here they’re displaying the meaning behind the track, Jimin shows it through his solo freestyle dancing reflecting their shadows since he’s the black swan and brings out his wings (which wasn’t part of the original choreography) this particular choreography was done by brailizan dancer along with their company’s personal choreographer Mr. Son Sun-Deuk where then Jimin helps the others since it’s more his element but Hobi & JK can also do it. I also noticed Jin’s reflection didnt move within the mirrors when he turned around 👀 *The song is very sad even though it may not appear that way, it’s about a dancer who dies twice after they stop dancing but the first death is most painful* BTS most scariest fear is one day they’ll lose the passion for music and dance, making them die their first death.* THIS IS AWHOLE NEW LEVEL FOR THEM WITH A MORE GROWN UP MATURE VISUALS AND OUTFITS THAT ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD WITH THEM SWITCHING FROM LIGHT & DARK. *If you’ve seen the Black Swan movie with Natalie Portman then this explains why they filmed and danced in a theatre setting barefoot* FUN FACT: After watching it a couple times RM got inspired by story behind it and decided to written a song about the sacrifice an artist makes when they stop performing.

I love the reaction even without knowing what they say, honestly despite studying Japanese I pick up bits of Korean just because I’ve been listening to it more haha 😂 but also I love Rang’s two color shirt 💜👌🏽 11/10 Jimin’s dancing is so beautiful especially that one move where it looks like a circle he made with his leg? For anyone who is confused, The white that BTS were wearing in the beginning represents purity and innocence, its what people see them as. Most people see them as these perfect and moral beings, But their shadow wanted to take over, and when their shadow took over, that is why their clothes changed to black, because their shadow has finally taken over, meaning, BTS have finally accepted what they wanted and what they truly desire. They have accepted who they are. I think Black Swan is a perfect representation of every single one of us. We all need to accept who we are and what we want, let your true desires show. It is okay to show who you really are, but do not put up an act and pretend you are perfect. No one is perfect, we all have flaws. Accept them because they are a part of you, just like your shadow, because it will always be with you, wherever you go. Never. Forget. That. If you do not understand what your shadow is in the Map of The Soul, your shadow is your deepest, hidden desires that you keep hidden because you want everyone to see your persona as pure and innocent. White Swans: Symbolizes purity and innocence. Black Swans: Symbolizes, the joy and freedom felt in helping others as well as equality. It also stands for your deep inner mysteries that are desperate for a creative expression to be set free. BTS really do find many ways to help us learn to accept and love ourselves for who we are.

Wow... it's always amazing to hear a reaction from dancers because you guys are able to immediately recognize and interpret the dance moves. You mentioned Black Swan the movie. Yes, this song is loosely adapted from that movie, in fact the room with many mirrors that Jin entered was used in the movie.

Just to let you know. It is not a cathedral but a Theatre that even Black Swan the movie was made I think in LA. They perform Swan Lake there which is where Black Swan is from.

Thanks for the English sub. I appreciated your reactions much more. I enjoyed how each one of you had different interpretation of the MV.. It shows how much BTS and big hit worked so hard and spent a lot on their work of art to allow us open up our inner selves and discover our own shadows and light. It helps is to know and love ourselves better and in the end appreciate each other and love each other as well.

Thank you my friends. I have just discovered your channel and I am very much enjoying watching your BTS reactions. I am sorry that I am not able to write my comment in Korean for you. Their music is much deeper than many people realise, and - because I don;t speak Korean - I always listen once, and then research the meaning of the lyrics in English translations. Sometimes even then it is not clear straight away what the real meaning is, but I know how much work BTS put into making the music and lyrics perfect, so the words are important to me. Thankfully there are many generous ARMY who share explanations of songs and lyrics, with special notes on cultural elements. I am incredibly grateful to them, because - while the music can transcend language and boundaries - the meaning of the songs does matter to me. I love the way you are willing to be enthusiastic AND mystified at the same time - it is absolutely the correct approach. And, yes, I don;t think that any one meaning needs to be the "correct" one, or the only one. While the song is about the fear of losing your passion (the fear being the shadow), there is a sense in which that fear is actually a demon. At the end we see the shadow on the stage curtain dwindling to disappear before JK confidently walks away, while the shadow no longer has any power. I notice that many many songs BTS write are about dark subjects and sometimes trauma, but they never leave us in torment, but always show that there is light. I know this is their conscious decision, but it is also very brave. 💜
