REVIEW - Fanatec Button Caps and Sticker Set

Thanks for the review! I can confirm that the print is indeed on the underside, so they won't wear off easily. We don't have an ideal shipping solution for small and light items at the moment but it is something we want to improve in the future. For now it is better to order this product when you purchase a steering wheel or similarly heavy item.

Hi Dom! Thanks for the comment. This has been the case for a while now and has often been a barrier for myself ordering smaller items and waiting until as you suggest to place a big order. Any move towards improving this would be great news especially for us Fanatec users over here in the UK 👍🏻

How are these buttons durability wise compared to those standard button caps you provide on the formula wheel rims? I have the DD1 PS4 and my issue on the F1 wheels are those button caps are constantly cracking every 2-3 months and I'm already on the 3rd replacement set. It appears to be a widespread issue that should seriously be addressed. Doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence in purchasing these button sets knowing it will crack.

I've never had any issues with any buttons cracking if I'm honest and I've been using Fanatec wheels for over 2 years now. How hard are you pressing them? I haven't heard of these cracking before?

@@TraumaTeamRacing I've been extremely gentle on them and not hard at all! In fact you will notice that there are alot of people on reddit who have experienced this problem you can Google this yourself. I've just read in one post that the quality and design of the button / sticker caps are different from the OEM caps provided on the formula rims. A little suspicious why they can't make the quality and design the same if you ask me.

@@_Jacks_ I can only speak from my own personal experience. I haven't had any issue with them as of yet. The 2 sets of buttons are different as the ones here are recessed to accommodate the stickers. Would always be wary of reddit as it tends to be an echo chamber of the negative use cases but it would be interesting to know the proportion of cases Fanatec have had reported as a percentage of units sold.

Thanks for the review! I was lucky enough to pick up during black friday sales for like $5. Granted, I ended up picking up a few other things while I was at it :D

@@TraumaTeamRacing I haven’t been able to come to terms with what design I want yet. The shipment was delayed and I just got it this weekend. I intend to use the wheel on both PS5 and Xbox so I gotta find something that matches the input mapping in Forza and F1. That part might be challenging 🥲

The other issue with Etsy buttons is they wear off easily. I had a radio button that eventually faded. The Fanatec stickers are really durable and haven't needed to to replace one yet. Yeah they pricey but worth it.

I had thought this might be the case. The Fanatec ones certainly look the part. How long have you been using the Fanatec button set for? Definitely can't find any that compare.

Stickers and button caps look great. I think these stickers aren't digitally printed but probably screen printed on the sticky side of the plastic.

He wasn't totally honest about the import VAT, he failed to explain that Fanatec remove the VAT on your order making it VAT free. The the VAT is added on when it passes through customs using the commodities codes on your invoice.

Who wasn't totally honest? This is standard practice post BREXIT when buying anything from the EU and not unique to this purchase.

I think there are a lot of competitive brands out at the moment. I am in the Fanatec ecosystem and I really like their wheels. They have brought out some cheaper alternatives which I think are worth a look of you haven't seen them 👍🏻

@@TraumaTeamRacing The thing is i am sfter anF1 wheel , the fanatec Esports F1 wheel have sold out on there website i could by second hand but you dont know what your getting could have a bad button or two, the thrustmaster farrari F1 wheel looks amazing but again its expensive, i did convert my logitech to an F1 wheel but its not got the performance of the more expensive wheels.

I would hold out for new if you can. There are a lot of cheap alternatives from other competitors. Have you had a good look around?
