LPJ is not "junior" the J is for Juszkiewicz (henry Juszkiewicz was CEO "Chief Executive Officer" of Gibson) The juniors do not have a maple top and also only have one humbucker pickup on the bridge

I bought the White one. Removed the EMG type pick up covers, Buffed it out extensively with Virtuoso Cleaner, 3M liquid Hand Glaze, and Virtuoso Polish to give it a beautiful semi gloss shine.Added the Black chrome reflector knobs, and ABR 1 Gibson tom bridge. Man, oh Man how you can make a cheap, entry level priced Gibson come to life

excellent guitar, discontinued , it is a collectible, Gibson, the maple neck rocks , the 2014 LPJ is different ,but does not compare to 490,r/498t p/u in the 2013 LPJ

***** they changed it for 2014 (61 humbuckers , speed knobs etc.) 2013 MODEL LPJ has 490r /498 T black plastic cover pickups. which did you buy or did u buy new 2015 LPM I know stores are still selling 2013 LPJ AND 2014 LPJ GIBSON MADE SO MANY OF THESE GUITARS they didn't sell them all in 2013 but is no longer in production WTF

donthewatcher I think they wanted to get the 2013s off the market to simplify things. A lot of people complained about the ugly pickup covers. The price dropped steadily during the year at the major outlets. I bought an SGJ (same pickups and ugly covers, same finish, but lighter). The 2014s probably sold better but several commenters have said the tone is better in the 2013s. I agree.
