Thanks for the show, Pete. Humble Pie rocked. Their only time I can recall through north Florida was a summer in the early 70s and I could not get tickets to see them. That was before all the online ticket buying and couldn't afford the scalp prices that I could find. Heard it was a great show but no surprise there.

I saw Humble Pie at the Forum in Inglewood CA on May 4, 1973. Six days later I saw Alice Cooper's "Billion Dollar Babies" show at the same venue. That was a pretty good week! I was 17 at the time and Humble Pie was only my 2nd big league rock concert after seeing Grand Funk Railroad on November 30 of 1972, also at the Forum. Of those three concerts, I have the least memory of Humble Pie, probably because I don't recall any lighting or on-stage "flash" so to speak. Just a great band playing their songs loud! Go to KZbin and type in Humble Pie I Don't Need No Doctor LA Forum 1973 to see about four minute clip from this show! God I miss those days!!

"Rockin' The Fillmore" was the 1st heavy rock album I got when I was 11 years old. Been a fan ever since. I only ever saw The Pie w/ Steve in 1980 touring the "On To Victory" album. They opened for AC/DC @ The Spectrum in Philly. Also in 1976 @ The Spectrum I saw "Steve Marriott's All Stars" opening for Skynyrd & The Outlaws.

I saw Humble Pie in NY City back in '75 w Joe Vitale. Yeah, such a good live band. Steve Marriot was such an awesome front man, guitars, vocals, and a legit harp player. My favorite song is thier Ray Charles cover, "I believe to my soul".

I was on board the instant I heard tracks from Smokin' on the radio in '71 but by '75 when they toured Street Rats I was still not old enough to drive and didn't know any other Pie fans so I missed their show at Nassau Coliseum which was advertised as "festival seating." Anyone see that show?... I did see Frampton at Madison Square Garden for the Comes Alive tour, small consolation...

Hey again Pete, saw Humbie Pie in 1981 in Southern California opening for Ted Nugent and let me say that Steve Marriot vocals were so soulful and clear; and Bob Tench was spectacular on guitar. They played just under a hour and tore it up. Unfortunately Ted and his band, which included 3 brothers from Michigan sucked! Someone in the crowd threw something at Ted which then Ted jumped off the stage and into the crowd, house lights go on and stayed that way for about 5 minutes. The Ted started the band where they left off, but then some douche throws a firecracker at the stage and the concert is halted. I was with my girlfriend at the time and we decided to get out. They started back up again as we were leaving, but at least i was able to see the incredible Marriot and Co.

I saw that same Ted tour bro but unfortunately not with Humble Pie(as I never got to see them). It was was the 3rd Annual day of Rock n Roll in the Superdome(Rockets ,Foghat,Ted(The 3 brothers were the DC Hawks),REO,and Heart. They all kicked ass.I could have done without the Hawks but Ted was still Ted and in his prime,of course being 17 at the time at an all day concert in New Orleans how can I complain.

@@markhaus1329 Right! Ronnie Montrose was ALWAYS an intense, meticulous, very-driven guy, so I can totally understand Humble Pie being slightly intimidated! Lol I didn't mean to slight Steve Marriott. RIP to Steve as well. As a sidenote, if you're as big a Ronnie Montrose fan as I am, check out Martin Popoff's excellent book - "Rock the Nation" about Ronnie's career and his unfortunate suicide. Peace 🎼

I was lucky enough to see Humble Pie play live twice - both times at Glasgow Greens Playhouse in November 72 and October 73. Clem Clemson played at both but Frampton's Camel supported at the first gig. Also the first gig was recorded and part of it was released on side 3 of the Eat It album. While I have seen scores of bands from the same era, Humble Pie were about the best live band on the planet and both gigs were great. The atmosphere at Green's Playhouse was always fantastic if the audience were in approving mood and I suspect that played a big part in them choosing the venue to record at. I saw Led Zeppelin, Rory Gallagher, ELP, Yes, Rolling Stones, Stone the Crows, Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Alice Cooper, Genesis, Caravan, Renaissance, Wishbone Ash and numerous others at the same venue around the same time (later known as Glasgow Apollo). How lucky I am to be that magic few years older than Pete! I was bout 15-16 at that time. Although some friends also saw the preceding 1971 Pie gig with Peter Frampton - I wasn't allowed to go! Many years later and probably not long before his death I also saw Steve Marriot perform in an English pub (The Horn of Plenty St Albans).

Love Humble Pie one of my earliest favorites. The Clemson era is my favorite Smokin, Eat It etc. Saw them once when Tench was in the band they opened for Ac/Dc at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. What a wonder to hear that one in a million voice live. Marriott is right next to Rodgers & Gillian on the short list of the greatest singers ever.

Love Humble Pie, have all their studio recordings as well as the obvious live stuff. Took a chance on the first 2 Live Bootleg sets, as much as I love HP, just couldn't get into to these. Some decent sound on some, but I will stick with Rockin' The Fillmore Complete, and Winterland. These are for die-hards.

Saw two shows in Manchester on at the Free Trade Hall with Frampton's Camel and Montrose (?) and one later at the Hardrock with The Blackberries - 72-73 I would think. Free Trade Hall of course an iconic venue for Manchester Music of all descriptions now I think a hotel err...why? You could get a drink at the bar when you were fifteen perhaps that's why. The Hard Rock probably now a B&Q or some such. "Rocking the Fillmore" my favourite album of all time. Reflections - first show a bit flat for me not sure why? perhaps disappointed that Peter F no longer with them and his own set never really took off. The show at the Hard Rock was absolutely blistering what can else can you say. Check out "Black Coffee" on the Old Grey Whistle Test somewhere on UTube.

If memory serves me correctly, Peter Frampton was starting to have talks with Steve about working together again before Steve’s untimely death. Pete, I’m a couple years older than you and yeah, did not see Mr Marriott in concert either but would have JUMPED at the chance to see him play with Frampton again. Tragic.

@dan cussin - Right, I'm pretty sure those songs were on a Marriott compilation too, two or three new songs. Man, what bad timing to lose Steve just when they might have gotten the original lineup back together or at least released an album together with just Peter. And then to lose Greg just when Peter, Greg and Clem all did a gig together, they might have done another record or tour... sigh...
