+Kernicus Rax Peretti is a small shop in Boston and I don't believe they use any other online vendors, but you never know when some may be floating about!

Hey John that Cuban blend sure does sound good! I've yet to sample anything yet from LJ Peretti unfortunately but I think I'll start with this. By the way I think middletons Walnut gets its name from Walnut street in center city Philadelphia. Have a good weekend

This review is superb, John. In a word the Cuban Mixture sounds tantalizing. But I've avoided it up to now assuming the cigar leaf component was prominent. I don't like that flavour when it's too prominent. But when it's done well (with a light hand), cigar leaf actually tastes like an amped up burley, which I like. You didn't specifically mention the cigar leaf, so I'm assuming it's a minor component despite the name of the mixture. If so I'll definitely try it out. Enjoy that beautiful mild autumn weather in New England! It's 75 degrees here now, mild by Tucson standards I suppose. Can't complain, but it's not exactly crisp fall weather :) Cheers and Mellow Puffs, Mark

+Bartholomew Fotheringay-Phipps Hi Mark, due to my aging mind, I wasn't sure that cigar leaf was even in this, but I just checked and it is. It is not at all overpowering and is used sparingly as is the latakia. Again, you'll find a very consistent and smooth taste from this one. Cheers Bro!

Hi John: I've always wanted to try Walnut, since starting pipe smoking, and reading about that blend. Cuban mixture sounds really good. I need to experiment more with the LJ Peretti tobaccos. I have a particular fondness for them, as I bought my first pipe, and a 1 oz. pouch of their Blend # 432 at the Boston shop in 2002. It is a fine, old-time tobacconist. Keep making those videos outdoors as long as possible. Take Care. Ed

L.J. Peretti is on my list along with Boswells of blenders to try. I am on a burley kick lately after having purchased a couple ounces of Haunted Bookshop. What a great blend that is and I can't wait to explore some different burley blends. The Cuban Mixture sounds very interesting. What blends do you recommend as far as burley goes? +MidwestPiper70 After a very hot summer and almost losing my taste for burley, all is back to normal. You must try Big 'N Burley from C&D...it's really my favorite at the moment.

Just had a bowl of this last night while Skyping with Wolfgang, and it is beautiful stuff. I was a bit concerned it would be a predominantly cigar leaf blend by the name, but I don't get that at all. I think one of the nicest US tobaccos I've ever had... wonderful!

This reminds me a lot of Walnut, an old U.S. drugstore blend. I had a pound of Cuban Mixture at one time but it didn't last long.

Rec'd my Savinelli Roma, it's smaller than I imagined. Do use the optional filter insert that comes with it?
