This review was extremely bewildering the entire way through, so much information left out. What kind of flavoring? Moisture level? Nicotine? No so much as a single word about the flavor profile, and how the hell anyone will ever smoke this thing is beyond me! Oh I'm so confused...

I've had my skeletool cx for 2 years. Good call on getting cx over the base skeletool. Love it

I kind of go back and forth between carrying a Skeletool, and a SAK Hiker. Basically, if I might do some fishing I want the pliers, but if I'm in the bush the Hiker's saw is more useful. The SAK is cheaper and more compact, and therefore tends to be my default if all other variables are moot. My old wave doesnt see much use, mostly because of its tendency to try and yank my pants down whenever I take a piss.

Great review. Been carrying leatherman since their inseption. I like the carbiner. I just hang it on a belt loop. keeps my pockets clear ! ;-)

The skeletool was my first leatherman then my dad gifted me the wave as a house warming presant when I moved onto my own place I do love the skeletool but like you the wave is mostly for work and the skeletool is a lil pocket knife with the extra

Yes always have on or the other on my keys☺️ The reason I bought it was because I have one of the other ones on my keys and didn't need the redundancy of my wave... The wave has moved to my work pants for most of the time...

I have been considering getting a Skeletool CX to carry in the place of my Wave. What you said about the Charge vs Skeletool corresponds exactly with what I've been thinking. The Wave is a bulk and the tools I use most often are the blade, screwdriver bit, pliers, and scissors. Scissors have been important for me to have on a multi-tool, but I think that the Skeletool just might be my perfect tool despite the lack of scissors. Thanks for the vid, really helped me finalise my decision to get a Skeletool!

Nice review! You could also try a Victorinox knife, especially if you don't use the plyers that often. I carry my Pioneer daily. Smaller and lighter.

The one true multitool is victorinox swisstool, once used the file to cut the wire holding the spare tire under the car. It's a beat but way more useful and built well.

The 154cm is more than just a little bit better than 420HC! Not that the 420HC is bad. Depends how you use the blade. Earlier Skeletool pliers head could snap. Leatherman improved the head. Look for a large circle on the pliers head older models, and be ware! I have both stainless and CX later models. Excellent light duty tool. If you need heavier pliers, get a LM Surge. I broke the pliers of the skeletool trying to bend a wire loop on a realtor’s sign. It snapped right off. It looks great, but I won’t spend the money on this tool again.
