I had a set of the original Bighorn (1.0) on my old 08 Grizzly 700 and they were an awesome tire. I had around 1800-2000 miles on them when i sold it and they were still in great shape. When i bought my new 19 Yamaha viking i put on CST Abuzz tires right from the time it was new, because i wanted a heavier ply tire and more aggressive tread. they now have around 1200 miles and they have been awesome! They have been good on hard pack, snow,mud,and rocky trails. They have performed flawlessly no puncture or patches. They are a bias tire but ride like a radial in my opinion. I liked them so much i put them on my 16 Suzuki Kingquad 500. I should mention that the sizes are all 25x8-12 front and 25x10-12 rear on all 3 rigs. I always enjoy your videos, you ride the same way i do. Keep up the good work!

Hey Mike ! thats good to hear man, yeah the BH are a good tire for sure. And you were smart to buy a heavier ply tire for your SXS, I think way to many ppl make the mistake of buying tires that were originally made for a 400-700lb ATV then putting them on there 1500-2000lb SXS.... Thanks so much, glad you like the videos, glad to see there are still a few of us "trail" riders still around haha Cheers !

That is what I call a proper review, having a beer in your hand. ;) I'm still using my Can-Am stock tires, the Carlisle Trail Wolf. After 1500km almost half way gone, but thats probably because we don't have as much trails here in Belgium as they do in Canada so I have to use a lot of main roads. Might switch to the Big Horn 1.0 next. Thank you for another great video, looking forward to the next one.

Hey Jonas! Ohhh yes I always have a beer in my hand when I'm out in the shed haha Ohhh so you run the pavement a lot? maybe the big horns wouldn't be good for ya, they would probably wear out pretty quick. maybe something with a bunch of smaller knobbies closer together would be better. maybe ask some people local to you and see what they use.

Hey John ! Congrats on the new machine ! I think the BH 1.0's would be a good trail tire for yahs, but I'd personally stay away from the 2.0's, the SXS is much heavier than an ATV, so you will need a more robust tire. They have tires now that are designed for SXS's, so do lots of research and choose which one is best for you.

Bighorn was the tires I had plan for buying last year, and did watch a lot of videos about them. But for my driving that have little to none mudding, and mostly drive on rocky terrain with big boulders, asphalt and generally on gravel road, I talked about my local atv-dealer and he did recommend Wanda P3006 that is all terrain tires. I bought 27" that is a bit big for my, but the better ground clearance made it really worth it. And btw I'm in North of Norway, and just waiting for snow to melt so I can go out riding again.

We do a bit more mud riding now so I like zillas/wild thangs better now but for normal trails and long high mileage trips the big horns are better. Looking to head out to New Brunswick this summer for an ATV trip, any recommendations for accommodations? We are usually a group of 4 and coming from Ontario. Thanks.
@Maritimer3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike ! where were you planning on riding? will you be bringing a camper or anything? I recommend Sussex, if you dont have a camper, you could stay at Adairs Wilderness Lodge, they have cabins, Gas, restaurant, bar and is in the middle of the trails. plus you'd be close to Friars Nose look off and Martin Head beach/island. if you have a camper or tents you can camp at Timberline or Animal land campground, you can get on trail #3401 right there, and there is some sweet look-offs on that trail. if you watch my videos where I goto a Ski-hill look off & Friars Nose and any camping video from martin head, you will see the spots i'm talking about.

We will definitely be looking for Lodging. We will probably load up our King Quads and Head out on a Thursday morning and Leave to head back on a Monday morning. It’s basically a full day drive each way barring any problems. Lol. Thanks for the info, hopefully we can get out there soon once COVID settles down a bit.

Great review! Do you know how well the Chinese version compares to the bighorn? Thanks
@Maritimer3 жыл бұрын
Hey Will ! I havent owned the knock off ones, but from what I hear they are cheaper to buy, the tread pattern looks to be almost the same, but they are a stiffer tire and don't soak up the smaller bumps like the BH do, so they wont be as smooth. BUT some people don't mind the stiffer tire, so it's all preference really.

Great review. I just ordered up some Kenda Bearclaw HTRs with some ITP beadlock rims. Haven't tried them out yet. I currently have OG bias ply Mudlites. Back in the day (pre-2010), the Mudlites were kind of the lightest snow and offtrail style tire you could run, and they were pretty tough. So that's what I've always had. These days there's so many good tires out there, I'm not sure that the Mudlites fill that roll as effectively. Anyway, good stuff. Talk to you later sir.
@Maritimer3 жыл бұрын
Hey man ! Yeah the HTR Bear claws are a nice tire too, super popular in my neck of the woods. Yeah the Mud Lites were king back in the day but where I am they Quickly developed the name "Plug Lites" b/c of all the holes we used to get with them haha Thanks for watching man ! I Appreciate it !

Hey man, I just googled them, they look pretty much identical haha so im sure they ride nice. I will say stuff like that is usually cheaper for a reason, and I find the "knock offs" are usually a harder compound tire and not as smooth as a BH. but I cant say for sure, I haven't owned them.

Hey Ed, I have no clue, But the Grizzly has large wheel-wells, I think you'd be safe up to 28" after that you'd probably have to trim the plastic on the foot-well. And I think it would depend on the tire you choose.

Hey ! I don't know too much about any of the BH knock off's, im sure they hook up just as good in all the different terrains but the rubber compound is usually harder, which makes for a stiffer ride. Also with a hard tire, the tire can't form around obstacles, which gives you a smoother ride and more grip. Check out some reviews online about them. I hope that helps ya.

Sounds like it may be the driver...... hahaha JK man, yeah it all depends on your riding style, my guess is you guys have lots of swamps and sand, so you'd probably be better with a more aggressive tire.
