Thank you. You've validated my suspicion about this machine; that adding J-hooks and safety supports to an upright that is designed for one thing, supporting the adjustable pulleys, is a design flaw.

I was looking at their K6 model, which lacks the smith machine. It's advertised as 13 gauge 2x2, but this video has me doubting that. And I saw another user with a RitFit rack with the same bending safety spotter issue. Like, if it bends just pressing on it, how is it gonna keep me safe? Think I'll spring more for either Major Fitness or a baller Force USA unit. Hope you got your money back on this, and thanks for the review

Just set up my M4 and came across your video. I hope you have found a resolution. With that in mind, I wonder if the uprights for the HR05 Mikolo half rack will swap out with the M4 smith machine. I also wonder if this will strengthen the overall unit and solve your issue. Keep lifting brother.

Thanks man and sorry you had to trial and error. You could always lightly lubricate the front uprights and probably even a good idea to do the same for the smith but as for the material bending under stress, that is unacceptable. It’s a shame because I was considering this or the ritfit. Thanks for shedding light on this.

Just pulled the trigger on the Vesta Fitness 3 In 1 Rack. Smith Machine and dual weight stack functional trainer. Not cheap. But hopefully buy once and cry once.

I have to imagine that the cost of 2x14 Guage uprights would have been very little extra. Sad. They don't care. They get plenty of money from folks who barely use it.
