Nice mixer but only lasted for 2 months. Refunded by Screwfix no problem. Went for bell minimix 150. £358 in Selco. So not great difference in price but more reliable brand.

The Belle always was regarded as a better quality, I think maybe I was lucky but I speak as I find and had no problems at all and sold it on after about 18 Months use and got a good proportion of my money back, Glad you got your refund OK. Thanks for watching

Belle at least has lots of spares back up and according to a builder's advice I bought the 130 Belle. Very sturdy and well made but drum wasn't very concentric which worried me on the effect on bearing life but it uses two beefy sealed roller bearings, one on the drum stub-shaft and one on the motor output shaft, and seems to have been well engineered. I think in the long run the Belle is the better bet as they have a reputation for reliability. I got mine for £258 (I suspect it was refurbished rather than new)

Looks a nice bit of kit Mike. I am sure we will see this lots of times in the near future. Are you in U.K. permanent now?
@oldtimer436 жыл бұрын
Hi Nigel, If you ever need to buy one I can really recommend this one, there are others from nearly £100 cheaper but it shows! The build quality of this is excellent. Not back permanently yet but later this Spring

I found the mouth of the mixer too small, and the angle of the drum leading to the mouth too acute, gauge of steel of the drum is thin
@oldtimer432 жыл бұрын
All reasonable comments but for my use it was fine and as I said nearly half the price of a Belle, If I was a builder using it all the time I would have bought a Belle but for my use building a one off extension and some other work I found it to be a good buy.

Mine leaked gearbox oil from day one..the gearbox shell is in two halves with an obviously pinched rubber gasket sticking out in places, oil dripping from the lowest point on it. Its not user serviceable so not point thinking you can just top up the oil. Rubbish from the Chinese factory, shipped to UK and sold to a mug. Refunded.
@oldtimer433 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you got your money refunded, however I can only go on my experience, I used it for probably the best part of two years and it was still good when I sold it on
@davidbarnett80023 жыл бұрын
I had belle mixer brilliant done loads of extentions unfortunately it got stolen to save money i bought one of these total rubbish Drum is very small Paddles are small so mixing takes a lot of time After 4 extentions the paddle broke in the end bought a belle one again which i should have done in the first place This is ok for a diyer But not a long lasting mixer cheap and nasty
@oldtimer433 жыл бұрын
I certainly wouldn't argue about the Belle being a great mixer, however I can only comment on my own use. I have had several Belle's years ago when I was building full time but I couldn't justify the cost for a one off extension. I used this for about 18 Months with no problems at all and ended up selling it and getting most of my money back so from my personal point of view it was a very good buy.

@@oldtimer43 thats good your of view a good buy From my point of view not worth the money
@fiskrond92123 жыл бұрын
@@davidbarnett8002 If you're trading as an ongoing builder (doing extensions) then maybe you ought to invest in appropriate grade equipment rather than being a cheapskate. This mixer is quite obviously DIY grade (240v).. duh!

It would help if you put some cement in the mix
@oldtimer436 жыл бұрын
Didn't you notice me going into the garage for it? I am pretty accurate with mixes that mix was 1 of cement to 5 of soft sand , morter for laying blockwork
