These are one of the nicest Bluetooth speakers I’ve ever seen. I own two of them. They contain 4 speakers. The front and rear middle opening# are passive radiators. Battery access is simple, only remove the two bottom screws and slip the folding cover off. Battery is accessible at that point.

Well, I personally don't like too bright of a treble, because it may sound delightfull at first, but listening to a lot of trebly sound can cause fatigue over longer listening periods. I like the BOSE because of the deeper bass response, and well balanced and natural sounding. Not a harsh trebly sound like the Altec Lansing has. Great review though, keep up the awesome reviews!!

Yesterday I bought an old Mercedes, and today I was cleaning the interior and found this ancient device. There was no charger, but at home there was a cable from an electric clock. the sound of it is impressive. two good old things almost in one day))

@stonelenny It's not difficult to understand. You are changing the audio output of the computer from the built-in speakers to the SoundLink. If you change the volume on your computer it will change the volume on the SoundLink. And you can also change the volume on the SoundLink. As always the case, if you max out the volume of the source you may run into distortion and if you max out the SoundLink you may start getting distortion as well.
@michaelerbreviews

That is true. I am also wondering about the long-term durability of the hinged case with frequent folding and unfolding. So far no issues.
@michaelerbreviews

Not directly I don't think. You could use a microphone hooked up to your computer and then connect via bluetooth as you normally would. the Bose also has an aux in but that won't directly support a microphone.

Thanks for the review. I ended up buying the Jawbone JAMBOX after listening to both at the store. The Bose I thought sounded really terrible, very boomy, the JAMBOX sounded more natural. I really wanted to like the Soundlink, I loved the form-factor, but I knew I'd quickly get tired of the sound.
@michaelerbreviews

The loudness of the sound source will also affect the loudness that the Bose is capable of producing. If the sound source is not very loud to begin with then the Bose will not generate the max loudness it is capable of producing.

Choosing a speaker is personal preference. Speaking only for myself, if the only consideration were the sound quality, I would prefer listening to Norah Jones and Jack Johnson and similar artists on the Altec Lansing InMotion speaker. It provides more clarity and mid and high range to my ears.

I have a Bose Soundlink - I think it's great, only down sides are; There is no remote (yes you can change volume on your device, however only up to a specific range, then you have to alter your Soundlink volume to go higher/lower) It was pricey - but worth it in my humble opinion Seems to get confused with Skype sometimes although thats probably a computer issue. Trouble re-establishing connections between multiple devices - quite often you have to re-pair..
@michaelerbreviews

@ItsBenaWhile13 Probably around 4-5 hours. I've not really paid that much attention. At moderate volume it lasts 6-7 and maybe nearly 8 hours.

@napyelnats You push and hold the bluetooth button until it goes into pairing mode then it will sync to and remember the next device. You do this with all devices up to six at which point it will pair to the next device and forget the first device.
@michaelerbreviews

@RedStickSewingGuild I'd go with the SoundLink. Pairing should be easy. Put MacBook into Discoverable mode, push bluetooth button on SoundLink until it is Alternately blinking rapidly, it should simply pair right up.

Great review! I also tend to to the Altec Lansing IMW725 and I'm wondering how good the bass sounds. I'm enjoying all kinds of music but I'd like to use it for parties as well. Do you think the bass is strong enough for Songs with a lot of deeps like Hip-Hop/House? Thanks a lot and best regards from Germany!

But I been trying to pairing the second devices and it seems doesn't work at all... What I do here is I have to forget my first pairing from Bose Speaker then I am allow to pair a new one. The IMW725 lacks deep punchy bass but overall is well-balanced and sounds great. For the music you describe playing for parties, you may be disappointed. You've got to put this in perspective... the IMW725 is a small speaker and not intended to be a sound-blasting beast.

i personally went to a Bose showroom to test it out. i have to agree with you about it sounding muddy, instrument separation is not up to the mark. JBL on beat sounds awesome, by the way. but one should also check out the harman kardon go+play, which sounds even better than the JBL in my opinion.

I LOVE MINE!! Had it forever, but now having a issue, Can you help me??? My Bose Soundlink mobile will not charge or turn on at all , No lights coming on and I’ve tried doing the rebooted steps, still nothing. It just happened all of a sudden.. It sucks Bc it was working great hours before. If the battery needs a replacement how can I double check that issue before I purchase one?
@michaelerbreviews
@michaelerbreviews 4 жыл бұрын
Bambi Caulder I think it is a reasonable assumption that after all these years the battery has just given out. Lithium Ion batteries can only go through so many charge/discharge cycles before they simply wear out. You would have to measure the battery voltage in order to determine whether it had reached the point of no return. I would contact Bose directly from their support page.

Good afternoon sir I just came across this and I did not know it was this old but I did purchase it either way. It looks to be pretty simple but I I'm trying to find out if I could listen to my music while charging and a blinking little red light indicates the batteries just dead or that it is a wrong charger because I bought this used and it didn't come with any manual but I'm pretty sure I could Google that too but I'm just looking for a quick response basically I got to read the whole thing and is the cover with the magnets replaceable
@michaelerbreviews
@michaelerbreviews Жыл бұрын
You should be able to listen to the speaker while it is being charged. If the battery is completely dead however, it might not be possible to do that. Replacement batteries are readily available on eBay and elsewhere. The cover is replaceable if you can find a replacement.

@citomendoza I have both. First I bought the one in this video, then bought the bose sound dock portable, so i had both to listen to and compare. I bought a refurbished sound dock for $290 including tax directly from a bose store nearby. It has same warranty as a brand new one. I'm keeping the sound dock because it sounds better (it is bigger, so that is to be expected.) I just ordered a 2' cable that I can connect my ipad directly to the sound dock.

Bose were the first guys to really get deep bass from small products and started the BT craze BUT my speaker like this (Bose Soundlink Wireless - rectangular with cover/stand) actually has very bad treble. there is very little clarity from what was an expensive and premium product. its hard to understand why because getting treble was never difficult, only bass. anyone go any ways to improve treble on these speakers, maybe even add tweeters. its a great product in terms of battery, full sound, build quality, volume etc.... just that the sound quality and clarity is not there. i would love to improve it. Thanks!

@TheGav6280 I saw the JamBox for the first time just the other day while killing some time waiting for a flight at the airport. Though not a real review, I did listen to it for a couple minutes and fiddled with it. Sure is small but it can't really compare with the Bose Soundlink. It's a different animal. It does have impressive sound for how small it is and if battery life is as claimed, it's great. But for total sound quality the SoundLink is superior.

If portability and compact size is a priority than the Jambox might be for you. I did think it was pretty cool but it seemed quite expensive to me.
