We love core knowledge over here! I find that both of my boys 5 and 3 get so much out of the read alouds and they love the part where they do the thimbs up or thumbs down game they throw in there sometimes. I’m considering using all of it for next year. We will use CKLA and science next year.

We've been using CK for History Geography and some of the Language Arts for 3 years. We are using our first Science unit right now.

We use CKLA and CKHG love them! Not a fan of the amount of work the science units take to prep

So glad to hear that! I'm curious, are you able to use the books as a stand alone read aloud if the activities are too much or is the science dependent on the activities?

All the books can be used as stand alone read alouds, but I’d assume the incorporated activities help kids retain more and fit “schooling”criteria more.

So you did it everyday? Was it 1 lesson a day?
@TheYorkHouseLearning-wz6rp4 ай бұрын
I broke this down so that each day we did one or two activities a day (depending on length). Each lesson has a chapter to read with the kiddos and usually a couple additional activities to do and suggested books to read.

@@TheYorkHouseLearning-wz6rp @TheYorkHouseLearning-wz6rp that sounds doable. I want to do science too. So im trying to figure out how to schedule it. So it's not too much.

Don't worry, they're showing up! This year I'm aiming for 20 minutes of history and 20 minutes of science each day, so that it's not too much.
