Playing professionally I prefer a minimum of 34 strings but it really depends on what your goals are with the harp

Thanks for this review of the Grand harpsicle! I'm thinking of switching to that from a smaller harpsicle. However, I'm also thinking I might like to switch to something with slightly different characteristics. For example, I've heard that the Harpsicle string spacing is wider than most lever harps (then again, I just read something today that said it's *narrower* spacing!)...and that it has looser tension. If those are the same in the GH, I might opt for something else. One issue I have is maybe because I have big hands/fingers, I sometimes produce a bit of a "buzz" from a neighbouring string against my fingernail. As someone with limited experience on harps, I'm guessing that's because of the loose tension, and maybe because the strings are too close to each other for me. Would you have any suggestions for another type/brand of lever or celtic harp? I'll admit, I *am* in love with Harpsicles (and the company) so I'm very tempted to go ahead with the GH.

Linda Susan 2686 I haven't noticed much difference between the spacing of the grand harpsicle and my Celtic harp( sierra 36) as far as comparisons, I did consider a small Celtic harp made by dusty strings. I will have to look up the exact model.... in the meantime let me know if u have any more questions 😺

Linda Susan 2686 also in regards to the buzz your fingernails may be a little too long. I cut mine below the fingertips which is a little excessive but I absolutely cant stand the buzzing sound when I'm playing

Great review! I have one question. In the video you mention something about a charger that you plug on fir a minute to the wall ..something about something.. what were you talking about? Were you talking about plugging the harp directly into a wall outlet for a whole before plugging into the amp? I got confused. Please clarify what charger you were talking about. Thanks!

Theres a preamp inside the harp that allows it to plig into an amplifier u can charge it up in a minute bu plugging it into an outlet

Even as a beginner I would recommend at least a range of 33 strings so yes this one would work. With any less range you will probably be frustrated with the limitation of pieces you are able to play. A full leveres harp allows you to play in up to 6 keys. The only way to play in all keys is with a pedal or chromatic harp.

How do you prevent buzzing when playing the same string for 2+ notes in a row?

You dampen the string right after you pluck is at soon as possible, by simply holding your fingers against the string tightly

It's equivalent to a regular acoustic 36 string harp
