Review of GripCase for Miyoo Mini (3D model design by /u/Luvmaya07)

Hello everyone,
Miyoo Mini GripCase by Luvmaya is pretty amazing! It's released under Creative Commons Attribution license so you can download FOR FREE the 3D model here:

Remember to print it with 1.2mm, because with 2mm the device may not fit the case!
What I didn't mention in the video is that this GripCase works with Better Shoulder Buttons (!), however even standard shoulder buttons are much more comfortable to use, because your fingers can rest one the case corners.

I think that's a really clever design! If only miyoo minis were available for purchase at reasonable prices... Still, don't listen to people complaining about the logo. That's one of the cool things about 3D printing, people can change what they want about a design anyway!

I got my grip from part-timeCAD on Etsy. It's a little tight to close with the Mini in it. But works. These grip cases are a nice idea. Two uses in one 🤘

great review! how would you go about getting one of these printed if you dont have a 3d printer? also where did you find that card case lol id be down to just buy that to save a few bucks

Thanks! The one by Luvmaya is only printable currently, as far as I know you cannot buy it. Each major city has lot of places (even fax&copy shops) nowadays that offer 3D printing for a few bucks. I added an AliExpress link for the Poker Cards Case to video description.

So you could make it yourself out of a playing card case

Yes, but it takes a lot of time and needs good tools, because cutting through plastic not to break it is surprisingly hard.

the grip case doesn't have access to the bottom ports when playing: headphone jack, sd card or usb c port. also should have a no logo option. in the closed position, one side of the mini is unprotected. 🤔 probably better to get a separate grip and a case that each can do the job better.

There is an access to the headphone jack when playing, through a hole in the case. There is no access to SD card but why would you need it while playing? I don't mind having the logo, I think it's actually nice touch. In case mode only small part of the battery side is not protected, but the sensitive part of Miyoo Mini is the screen, which is well protected. The gripcase protects the device very well. I believe it's hardshell provides better falling protection than the stock softcase. Dedicated separate case and a grip extender (especially a big one with handles) would do job better, but it means carrying two separate items. If someone does not care about the pocketability then there are bigger and more comfortable vertical handhelds. IMO a Gripcase is the best solution so far for Miyoo Mini to keep the device secure, providing extra comfort, while keeping the portability factor.

idk looks cool but it's really ugly with that color and logo. think I'd rather go with a headphones case or something like a card deck holder

take a look at the version 2 gripcase from /u/captain_carrot www.etsy.com/shop/PartTimeCAD I can highly recommend it too as he fixed all the issues mentioned for the first version.
