Our cover finally rotted enough this year that my husband finally decided to buy a shed. 10 years and the frame is still perfect. My husband did some extras when we build it, like reinforcements on the corners and he had wood inside running along the angled part. Half this time was full sun and then we picked it up and moved it to a corner on our property, under a couple trees, which we thought would help make it last. Unfortunately the Butternut and cherry tree in that corner didn't help it last. Never really had a problem with the snow, it slide right off. He used awing tiedowns in the corners that we never had an issue with. We definitely got our moneys worth out of it.

Good review. The issues with all soft top carports is in snowy weather. You need to add spars between the OEM spec down angle tubes to help stop accumulation. Also; I use ratchet straps to pull the longitude joints together. I also either mount the leg brackets to 2x6 green treated lumber on ground contact or; I attach four ten foot 5x4 decking planks to the leg tubes with “U” brackets from Menards. This keeps the legs equidistant and stops “leg creep”. I’ve been using soft tops with for 30 years in the Midwest and I feel to some degree, I have mastered the issues. Final solution to beat all; steel panels over the top 3/4 of the unit. It’s all about the fun and challenge against the elements. 😎

U then convert it into a full metal shed by buying metal roofing panels. 200 to 400$then it will be fully solid. I plan on doing this when mines falls apart. Cheaper n more strong than any metal shed u can find.

What is the measurements of the sides? I was thinking of parking my Class C RV under the port. Can you tell me what you use under your car, the black grids? What is the advantage of using the grids? thanks

i have the barn garage 13x20x12ft tall i got about 6 years from the tarp. i have replaced the cover this year but realized areas it could be ,much better....

Maybe a vent system can be installed, one that you can put in and out of the muffler in event or starting your car remotely? To avoid C02 poisoning

I had a Shelter Logic domed roof. Shed handled snow fine. Year 2 the cover was failing. I replaced it. Year three a windstorm really messed up the frame. Replaced a bunch of bent pieces. I anchored it with eye bolts in concrete 2ft deep. Cable from eye bolts to the bottom of the frames. Year 4 a Deracho hit and that was the end of the thing. I’ll not buy another!!!

funny how on youtube i look at one just ONE of these sites 50 keep poping up that i dont want to see and it doesnt matter if its something about a car or power doors or camping things 50 to 100 pop up i dont want to look at and fill up my looking for something else it really does suck the big one

I think some ventilation usually occurs since its not much sealed. There us a vent kit, or create a similar one yourself if skillful with customizing things. Electrical tape the joints, tape the crossbeams, and possibly fit another tarp over top for better protection.

Mine lasted just over one year before the cover disintegrated. Not UV resistant.

Here is what we use: amzn.to/3E7NMxj It protects the sod and after about 2-3 weeks of summer weather (after we take the tent down) the area almost is back to shape without signs of being covered with a tent and car all winter!

The tarp on my shelter lodgic disintegrated after one year in the florida sun! Had a very hard time finding new ones...new tarps cost as much as the whole frame and tarp together.

Is it either of these in the list? -ShelterLogic 10x20 Feet New Auto Shelter $511.56 OR -ShelterLogic Super Max Canopy 10 feet by 20 feet 2-in-1 pack with Enclosure Kit, white cover $826.08 We have been searching for a way to have my son's car protected by weather & the car covers can nearly run half the price of something that seems more sturdy like this. Another question I have, being a single mom without a ton of experience with things like this, is there a way to use one of these on driveway/asphalt/concrete? Anyone? Or is there a different type for that? Thx for the review!!

We bought a ShelterLogic 12' x 24' x 10' garage, model 62770 and it lasted just over 2 years before a light wind tore a large hole in the roof Do not buy this product. We called them about it but they only guarantee it for 2 years. Our neighbour bought the same one at the same time and it leaked after a month. He got a replacement because they said that early model used an inferior covering. We should have got a replacement too but didn't. Ours wasn't leaking at that time. It is an expensive garage that must be replaced within 2 years. We have had tarps that lasted longer.

Mine failed within 8 months. It developed holes near the peak for no apparent reason….no high wind, hail, ice, snow, branches etc etc. I contacted ShelterLogic with a warranty claim. They sent me a no cost replacement top within 10 day. Needless to say, I have no faith in the replacement.

I refer to the big box-bought storage shelters as Shelter Illogic as the quality is so abysmal. Thin as paper. Even hold down ratchets are worthless.

These shelters are an absolute junk. I own an outdoor RV Storage and several clients bought those to cover their boats or pop up trailers, after first winter they all sustained damage and some got destroyed completely, I'd post photos if I could.

Haven't had much luck with gable roofed canopies either. As he mentioned, I believe the round tops shed snow, and rain better. The OP says to push the snow off it. Well, when it comes down heavy at night, or while you're at work, that's tough to do. These things are good for summer time entertaining, and taken down in the winter. Unless of course you live in the sunny south.
