Awesome! I appreciate a real honest review and not just a paid advertisement.

Yes, indeed I got mine 2 winters ago and I find it works out pretty well. It can remove tons of snow in a few minutes. If you find the pole is not long enough you can purchase extention poles - 4 feet long. I am very happy with mine also and would highly recommend it also. Mine came with the rake that is also very handy to have.

thanks for this. so was this fairly hard packed snow? does it work good for that? Also are there any metal parts? I have a power line I have to contend with.

Nice vid. I have one and love it, but have used it a lot and require a replacement tarp as it got a bit damaged on my steel roof. They don't appear to sell one so I guess I will have to purchase a second one (which will give me extra poles anyway).

That plastic y joint will certainly become a problem, especially if you live in Alaska and use it a lot in subzero Temps. Companies are so cheap nowadays and they don't care if the product lasts very long. In fact they profit more from products that don't last years like they used to when things were built to last.

Looks like something you can build yourself with some pvc or metal conduit and a slip-n-slide

Good video. I have a SnowPeeler version of this type of tool. The big advantage of the SnowPeeler is that it has a thin sharpened cutting edge along the bottom edge instead of the roller on this tool. The SnowPeeler also has thin Teflon sliders instead of wheels to protect the shingles. Both of these things will make it easier to drive the snow head into the wall of snow you're working on ... making the job easier. The slider tarp looks to be easier to manage on mine too.

The idea is to remove WEIGHT, not to clean the roof as some here seem to think is the goal. This is ideal for that purpose.

I bought one. It works good but is poor quality. The head portion came apart several times and I had to climb on the roof to retrieve it and put it back together. Year 2 first use the top fiberglass pole section broke at the attachment point. Im going to purchase a different brand to try.

The reason I installed electric heaters for my roof. No worries with snow build up or having to kill myself with manual labor.

I think it was poor design to have the tines so long. The plastic hub should only be 2-3 inches above the roof, to provide much more control, stability, & force with the handle, which could also be 1 or even 2 segments longer.
