Nice! Definitely helpful. I've been looking into using older anamorphic lenses, but was wary due to how much hassle it can be to work with dual focusing options. Thanks for this!!!! PS: That kitchen backsplash is really nice! LOLZ

I love that kitchen light. hahahaha. I'm glad these are easing you into the idea of vintage scopes. They're nowhere near as straightforward as Sirui though.

@@AnamorphicOnABudget true. Definitely takes a bit more care and planning to use. But the results are very good! And we are in the process of redecorating our kitchen. I wanted a backsplash like the one in your video, and my wife wants something totally different. I'm gonna show her this video so she can see how nice it looks. The anamorphic lens helps a ton in terms of selling it LMAO

Salve , Tito. You have shooting a lot on the Schneider! Changed your mind about it? You said it was "too modern" on your earlier review 🙃

It's cleaner than the Elmo II I got and I want people to notice the performance of the other parts (focusers mostly, in recent times) rather than the scope's character. That said, I've become a big fan of how much lighter it is compared to other vintage scopes. Thanks to a collab with Schneider my current stash is a red Ultra Star, a black Cinelux, a gold Cinelux and the Elmo II. :P

Off topic perhaps, would you consider the Sirius Anamorphic, 1.33x, 1.8, still a "budget" Ana morph?
@AnamorphicOnABudget5 ай бұрын
Yeah, they're definitely a budget option! :)

@@AnamorphicOnABudget Thanks, I guess for a beginner I'm considering perhaps all three Sirius, 25, 35, and 50, to use while using Magic Lantern, M1.

For $50, there no way you can really complain about this solution. Seems like it might be perfect for 8mm scopes.

I must not be the only one who thinks this why do you need to focuer on the lens that already the capability of focusing I don't understand
@AnamorphicOnABudget5 ай бұрын
If you don't have the focuser, you must focus TWO lenses (the taking lens, and the anamorphic lens) at the same time to achieve a sharp result. If you have the focuser, that's all you need to use, while the other two lenses stay at infinity. If this is confusing, watch the Cookbook series here, starting with Module 2 that explains how anamorphics work!

might as well put a magnifying glass in front of the camera. Would get roughly the same results.

I really dislike this side of camera gear interest. It’s really so far lost in the weeds that the focus on actual good filmmaking is nowhere to be seen. Ok, rant over.

Can you expand more? You mean DIY stuff? Or super niche stuff? Or reviews? Help? Thank you!

Settle down. Let people enjoy things and tinker and be purists where they desire. Passion is admirable in any context, and videos like these are a result of Tito’s. This obviously isn’t your niche, so it’s weird why you’d feel the need to comment this. Go watch a StudioBinder video.

@@AnamorphicOnABudget I know this channel is more about the techie side of gear acquisition, rather than actual production. You do a good job with it. I think I’m just hangry and need to eat. Carry on

Hahaha I appreciate your comment in any way though. The new cookbook stuff (Module 7) is more focused in production. I'd love to hear what you think of those (start coming out next week).
