I just got one, it's pretty great for the office. :-D I was frustrated at first trying to get it to balance, but I had it unplugged. As soon as I plugged it in and tried it again, I got it to float right away.

Had one for many years. I guess the coil of the electromagnet finally burned out because one day it just stopped working. Anyway, the best way to get it spinning is to take a straw and blow gently through it along the equator. That way you can get it up to a very high speed if you want to. (Even the speed that flat earthers think the world is spinning at.) Need to get myself a new one. :O)

We've had ours for a while. It came with a little black plastic 4 inch long, thin stick and you just put it between top and globe, it will begin to levitate. You could probably use something like an icecream stick. But, I don't know if it needs to be plastic for some reason - I would think not. But, it only takes one time to start it levitating using this. FYI

The globe was suspended and spinning(direction?... who cares?!!) within minutes of my finding your review. Nice one... thanks. 😆👍 P.S... left to its own devices, it does one turn in each direction, alternately.

Mine came with a power plug that has a knob with a voltage changing knob. What is the correct setting to keep it from getting stuck to the top bracket? I thank you for the help this video gave me. Finding the sweet spot is my trouble with this product. Thanks again

This certainly is one of the better types....would be perfect if it had a tilted spin...."Spinning"..what is a "fair amount of time" ? 20 minutes ?...that seems somewhat useless.. The reason it took two months was obviously a costoms backlog in checking all these thousands of boxes for drugs....

If you take the plastic piece it came with and put it between the globe and top . Then slide it out ,the globe will stay in place .

I would make a blower from a small computer fan and a funnel, running it at low voltage and piping the air through a silicone tube that I glue to the back of the stand and direct the airflow to one side of the globe. That would make it spin slowly. :O)

Yes it will, since it's running on electricity. You'll probably not notice it though. These things uses very little power. Hook it up to an electricity consumption meter and you'll see how much it uses. (Amazon sells them for less than $10.)

How long it will rotate depends on how fast you originally were able to spin it. The problem is that if you try to spin it too fast the globe will likely wobble and then pop upwards towards the magnet. With a normal spin, I manage to get it to rotate about 30 minutes or more in one direction. It slows down to a point where it stops, then I notice it seems to slowly go in the opposite direction for a bit, then back/forth again a couple of times until full stop (about an hour total of movement).
