I commend you for your efforts for sure! I’m no pro but I know it takes some time and know how. I really need to get mine out and start putting some jars away but probably after we move. Look forward to learning with you. 😊

Thank you for watching. I really want to start growing my own food and storing them too now. Especially the way this crazy world is getting. Just being a little more prepared I guess you could say. I really wish I could raise chickens! lol eggs and chicken for the rest of your life. lol I’m going to try it again this weekend. Hopefully it works out this time. Any tips ? Let me know!

Oh I hear you on this crazy world. I’ve been a prepper for most of the last 15 years but believe it or not I didn’t do much pressure canning. Two times I pressure canned some ground beef and chicken breasts. I do save my jars for mostly meat and empty jars for if the grid is down. That way I can save the meat in the freezer. I did buy a ball pressure canning recipe book on Amazon along with some other canning books. I store my dry beans, pasta, rice and flour in canning jars with oxygen absorbers or in 5 gallon Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers. Those then are stored in food safe 5 gallon buckets (Walmart) and stacked. All veggies are either dehydrated and stored the same way or frozen. I have a vacuum sealer for the jars to also store dry goods. Don’t forget to stock up on salt. Water. The body needs it. Sorry I don’t have any good tips for you on the pressure canning. There’s lots of information out there on the internet. It just takes time and that’s mostly why I haven’t done more of it. But after we move I will try to get more practice and diversity in what I’m canning. I do try to grow my onions, garlic, potatoes and sweet potatoes. They store well if you keep them out of sunlight and in a room that is close to at 70 degrees and 50% or lower humidity. I still have garlic I grew last year. All potatoes are excellent for your carbs and calories. They last many months and can get you by until the next growing season. Growing these carbs like potatoes and or corn is going to be very important. Just don’t forget your protein. Growing enough beans to sustain you will take a lot of space unless you’re the only one you are feeding. I hope this helps 👍👍

My first attempt at canning dry beans like you did turned out the same way. No juice. There's nothing wrong with the beans however. As long as it's sealed the beans are fine. This just means when you open that jar you will have more beans than you thought. Rinse the jar with water and dump it in with the beans and you got juice. Don't give up on it. And your next attempt just put less dry beans in it.

I ate some and threw the rest away. I was thinking it seemed okay , still pretty good. And the jars was sealed good, But I’m just learning, so I wasn’t sure about keeping them. I’m going to stick with it, because eventually it would save lots of money and time in the future. It’s fun trying to learn something new also. Thanks for watching and your advice. I really appreciate it! Try again next weekend.
