I bought a pair of Freds at £250 in 2016......and then I found a factory outlet that had 2 pairs of new Grenson Fred Commandos in my size for £60 a pair...The problem was the right shoes were different colours from the lefts ...I bought both pairs to take a gamble on getting them the same with acetone and leather polish and wax...I figured I could dye them black if I failed...but I didn't...I managed to get one pair into matching light tan and the other pair to the red/brown...Both pairs with slightly darker burnished toes and heels...They turned out really well and now I alternate them when I go out or depending what cloths I'm wearing...I'd highly recommend the Grensons

I'm lucky live about 25 miles from Northampton, got a pair of Freds from the factory, minor burnishing flaw at under half price, what a deal, fantastic Boots. I also pop into the Loake, Cheaney and Barkers factory shops 3-4 times per year, got a pair of Loake Loxley at under half price in December from the factory shop in Market Harborough

I'm happy to see you focus on some of these british country style boots. I've caught a glimpse of a pair in the b-roll during your intro song, but hadn't seen any videos from you about trickers/loake/grenson, etc. Thanks for this video.

I’m a Grenson fan and have a few pairs, my favourite being the Fred with a morflex wedge sole. Awesome review 🔥🔥🔥👌🏾

Great review. I now own a Tricker's Stow in Burnished Espresso. I appreciate you focusing on sizing. Like you, I'm a US 8.5D. My Tricker's boot is a Tricker's size 7.5. They fit perfectly and I appreciate the width.

Another great review. I think I’m one of about three people on the planet that don’t like burnished toes. I have a pair of Mark Albert’s that look similar, but I suspect not quite as well constructed. I’m actually happy that the leather is darkening to match the burnished areas.

Teik: India happens to have a couple of fantastic goodyear welted high quality manufacturers, namely Bridlen and Blkbrd shoemakers. Made in India is not a problem just as made in China is not - i happen to be a huge Grant Stone fan as well. It all depends on the budgets and materials in question. Craftsmanship can be very solid in India, as you can see from this Grenson itself. For me the Trickers Stow would be the leading choice in this segment and style and I do own a pair. Great content. Keep going, my friend. Cheers from India!

Thanks for another great review. I found a pair on eBay, unworn in box, for $430 here in Australia. I am cheering at this price. 😂😂. They are softening and wearing in nicely. You are right about sizing. Quite roomy so I put in a pair of gel insoles. Thanks for your advice, Teik.

What a fine and expert review of my favorite boot. I have two pairs, this in tan, and also in black. Neither have the leather soles however, are instead Goodyear small lugged. I was first drawn to the boot from seeing it with leather soles but could not find them in that material. I am extremely happy with the lugged, but will continue my search for a pair with leather soles. They seem to be very hard to come by. I wear them often, but not as much perhaps as my Allen Edmonds Daltons or Red Wing Beckmans and Iron Rangers. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos.

Great looking boot profile. About five or ten years ago, I remember seeing similarly looking Grenson boots but with the white wedge sole. I'd be interested in seeing a review of them. Thanks.

The country boot is a style I really want to add to the collection! I’m not sure if I want to be traditional with a Stow, go wild with a Triple Welt Fred, or a bit unique and have Carmina do a natty shell country boot. Where I live I run the risk of people thinking such casual boots are dress shoes when I’m out in the wilds

I'm not really a big fan of heavy brogueing, but wanted to have at least 1 country boot in my collection. Went with the one and only trickers stow in acorn. No regrets.

Great looking brogue boots. Classic. I bought their Murphy boot, but sadly the QC wasn’t very good. They were very understanding and refunded my money with no problems. But it affects confidence, and I must admit, I’ve been put off them as a brand a little.

I hear that a lot about their newer (2021 on) makes
Can we get the text *_"acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land"_* around a circle representing the word with a boot in the center on a shirt and make that the channel merch? I would buy that.

Very cool and stylish boot, as usual is not exactly the country of manufacturing what decides the quality, is the care and high standards under something is manufactured. Just as how sometimes hand made does not mean is made with more quality than machine made. Thank you for the video.

Great review Tek, I own a very similar pair of brogued English country boots from Mark Alberts, that are made in Italy. Sounds like a similar fit with a snug heel and more relaxed toe. Mine are in a caramel tan veg-tanned leather from Charles F Stead that has some really unique character to the grain. Biggest benefit is the Vibram lug sole, as it allows me to wear this boot here in Canadian winters. I would recommend you review them, but unfortunately Mark Alberts is no longer operating. One thing I struggle with is getting Venetian cream kind of packed into the brogeuing. Any tips on not getting cream embedded in all those holes?
