I've got just one question after watching the review - IS IT AS GOOD AS YOUR WHISTLER? How should I put this... Where I live the Whistler is 2.5x more expensive than this one. So... yeah. For the money needed to buy the Whistler you can already buy some advanced models made by ThinkTANK, Peak Design, etc. And they will most likely blow it out of the water. Seriously, how many times can you mention a BP that's not the subject of the review?

The one thing that not apparently clear with the Flipside Trek series is exactly how much capacity each bag has in liters. LowePro doesn't even list it. The best I can tell it is: 250 = 10L, 350 = 16L, 450 = 21L. I just purchased the 450 and was surprised and how small it is compared to my Mindshift backlight 36L. Being as the 450 is the largest size available, I expected it to be a little bit bigger. Still, it's a great bag for a day hike or trip.

A good, thorough, and practical review of what appears to be a very useful sized bag albeit with limitations, as your rightfully point out. Many thanks.

Just wanted to say that your reviews (this one and the whistler 350) were super helpful, since I live in Ecuador and don't have the option to just pop in to the camera store to try them out before purchasing. Thanks!

If you didn’t have a Whistler 350 and were to choose between a Whistler 350 and a FlipsideTrek 450, would you prefer the sturdier Whistler or the lighter FlipsideTrek? Would something (other than price) steer you to FlipsideTrek 450?

Excellent review. Will a nikon D850(124mm high) along with a smalrig L-bracket(20mm high)=144mm fit in trek 350? I am not concerned on number of lenses ( l have a bigger bag -flipside 500). Looking for a small bag to carry d850+L-bracket, 24-70, 17-35 and some personal stuff. I am a big fan of flipside.

How would this work with a Peak Design tripod? I’m assuming it’d work ok? Looking at this cheaper pack as a daily driver, just to toss my gear in the truck and keep it safe from dust as I work on the dusty ranches I frequent.

Can you somehow put a hydration bladder in this bag?
@LaurenceBakerAdobe5 жыл бұрын
No not really.
@darkspeed623 жыл бұрын
Hydration bladders are a good idea but are crap IMO. The fluid never stays cool for long, it always has a plastic taste and is a nightmare to clean. You can't beat a double-wall drinking flask.

Thank you. I noticed both the 350 and 450 do not have load lifter straps . Does that make the harness weaker?
@mikefletcher65954 жыл бұрын
I think it's called a flipside because you lay it down on the ground back upwards, not because you can flip it round.
@LaurenceBakerAdobe4 жыл бұрын
That's not my understanding 🐱 everything I've seen and read on Lowepro's website points to it being flipped around on the waist.
