An interesting aspect of this tone demo is how hollowbody this sounds to me. I have a natural 79. Great guitars. Through a vox and especially my delta blues 115. Great video.

The Peavey T-60 was a very underrated guitar. I have one from 1986 in black and all original and in new condition. Regarding the phase switch you will find that it will only work in the 2 pickup (selector in middle position) and on the bridge pickup position. With the phase switch engaged and in the bridge position the phase switch uses the inner coil only of the bridge pickup and when switched off you have the usual bridge pickup tone. Both tone controls are wired in a way that when they are on 10 your pickups are single coil and when rolling down the tone to around 7 they become full humbucker. So between 7 and 10 you can vary the amount of humbucker or single coil for each pickup. Very versatile instrument and the stock pickups sound really good on this guitar. And when these pickups are coil tapped you will find that they sound like the true single coil. A lot of other humbucker pickups such as Gibson pickups sound more "phase like" when they are coil tapped. The only other guitar I own that sounds good when coil tapped are the old Yamaha SG 1000 type guitars.

How did the chrome plating on the pot metal saddles stay in such beautiful condition?

Thanks, Bobby... I've been wanting to get my hands on a T60 for a couple of years now and one has just surfaced here in Oz. I just wanted to check out some more reviews etc. before I pounce...so now I'm picking up the phone.

Hi Howard, too bad we couldn't have connected sooner. I'm putting together another one, re-fretted maple neck, new pickups, new pickguard, newly refinished body, jet black. I hope you find what you're looking for. All the best, BH

It would be nice to see the 'before' pictures, and you didn't take any pictures before you restored it?

Good review. Turn off the reverb and effects and play it clean for better demo of tones. Thanks Booby.

You did not go through all the tones. when you roll back the volume knob to 7 it goes into Humbucker mode.

You are right. I'm restoring another T-60 and I will do that very thing when I post a demo for it. Sound good?
