I like these 4000 k better. It is not the brightest but it lasts. It is the right compromise in between the cold light 6000k Led and the too yellowish filament bulbs. I installed also my headlights with 4300k.
@emilz853 жыл бұрын
Of these LEDs I tried both old and new PHILIPS bulbs, and OSRAM bulbs, all 4000K. Conclusion: PHILIPS Ultinon 4000K (old ones, no yellow ring): brightness is good, diffusor better than osram, could call it warm white, but slightly on the greenish side, so would not really recommend to install in interior of the car if you want accurate color tone. I have these as front parking lights, as the color tone is quite close to dipped beam halogens, whereas Osrams looked out of place. PHILIPS X-treme Vision 4000K (yellow ring): true warm white, most accurate color tone of all, also better diffusor compared to osram. Best for interior in my opinion. OSRAM warm white 4000K: color tone most blue-ish of all, if that's what you want, go for it. However, if you want neutral warmish white, stick with PHILIPS X-treme vision. I have these as door courtesy lights.

Any idea why the new packaging shows 45lm instead of the earlier 50? Both 4000K and 6000K are now showing 45lm on the box and the specs on the website completely avoid providing the luminous flux. Do you have any background info on this, perhaps? :)
@CraigsDIY3 жыл бұрын
No idea sorry. I assume the update is more accurate. Both are reasonable figures for the measured power. Flux would not be a useful spec as it depends on the housing/reflector/lens and distance.
@Waybeyond3 жыл бұрын
@@CraigsDIY Thanks. That I perfectly understand, yet flux is what matters with 'standards' - e.g. W5W T10 bulb needs to have 50 lm to have the lovely 'E' letter for road approval. It appears they aimed at making a perfect replacement, with the same specs, despite no homologation, to have it ready in case the EU law would eventually change. Now we see that as X-tremeVision they had 50lm (hard to get them now) and current X-tremeUltinon has 45lm on the box. Weird :) With flux, we can see in C5W / C10W, as in your reviews. I have both Osram and Philips Festoon LEDs, Osram has 35 lm, Philips 45 lm according to manufacturers, tried them both and as you said - Osram spreads the light nicely, but it's only good for vampires ;) Philips has 45lm compared to 115lm of my C10W bulb that it replaced, and yet it ensures more light inside, despite not using the lamp's reflector as a non-directional bulb would.

Should this work for my 2019 mazda 3? My car have leds all arround, exept the drl/city lights. It's halogen now. That bulb contains 2 functions, city light and day running light. Now I'm looking for a canbus proof led option to replace them.

@Craig's DIY Car: You could mention that these bulbs are not street legal and if mounted in a car that monitors burned-out bulbs the controller will present a "burned-out" bulb error on the dash.
@BluTrollPro6 жыл бұрын
Andrei Rînea The legality depends where you are, in the UK sidelight bulbs are relatively unregulated, so these can be fitted perfectly legally, and are not massively noticeable over a halogen. However in countries like Germany, and much of Scandinavia to my knowledge, LED sidelight bulbs are not TÜV certified.

Hi. Have you a picture with comparing LEDs W5W Osram and Philips? Where is the better light?
@CraigsDIY6 жыл бұрын
There's little point in a video comparison as they're so similar you won't see the difference. I don't think one is better. The Philips measured a slightly warmer color, and has a stronger diffuser - I suggest you choose based on that.

Question: I originally thought the "defuser" was a protective shipping piece designed to protect the LED chip from shipping and from oily fingers. I nearly removed them thinking that was the case. I watch this video and it seems that I need to keep them on so they can defuse the light better. Is that correct?
@CraigsDIY7 жыл бұрын
If you want the light diffused it is. It essentially creates slightly softer light, and projects it sideways better. If you need less diffusion look at the Osram versions (linked to in desc) which is what I have in my car as they are behind separate fresnel lenses.

Hi guys. Excellent reviews. I need help in choosing T10 for my parker lights to match factory 4300k HIDs. I need a T10 that spreads out light to the reflective backing as seen in halogen housings. Can’t decide which is best. Osram or this Philips design or is there a better design out there? Will osram and Philips 4000k match factory HIDs well? Thanks in advance.
@CraigsDIY7 жыл бұрын
Neither generates a back-firing light, as they are basically just forward firing chips with diffusers. The diffuser however does do a good job of sending the light sideways so your reflector housing will get some use. The Philips has a stronger diffuser as discussed and shown in the video. However the Osram ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJXFcp6qjdh9bq8 ) tested at a slightly cooler temperature, closer to your 4300K desired. So if you care most about color matching I would go with them. All detailed in both videos so they will give you all the info needed. I'm not aware of any better options.
