KathleenLights I feel the same way, although, and don't shoot me please, I do believe that you are a bit more careful with what you say :) Like, that little pointy eyebrush, that's no good for anything, you always apply your base with your fingers, that works just fine. So, yeah, I do love that your honest, but let's get real, if you bought all these brushes, you'd be paying like 150dollars. I don't think they are worth that much :D Das expensive.

I don't understand why youtubers have to apologize or come off as more sincere when they have sponsored videos. I don't have a problem with sponsored videos and think it's great that a company trusts their opinion or thinks they can sell their product. People forget that KZbin is a business and youtubers have to sell a brand which is their name, so I see nothing wrong with sponsored videos and also these brushes look so beautiful.

Because with sponsored videos, most of the time they send you a product and make you sign a contract saying you will portray the product in a positive light regardless of how you feel about it. So not everyone actually likes what they're being sponsored to show you. Also the FTC mandates that you inform people if it's sponsored.

I just watched Kristin Gehm's review or "Topic Tuesday" on these brushes and she doesn't care for ANY of them at all EXCEPT for the angled eye brush...it's so interesting to see the difference in opinion from person to person. I have the original/regular line and I'm more than happy with it! I love Real Techniques brushes and all, but I'm not gonna spend my money on the new line, because I really don't need them in my life. Again, I'm a huge lover of the original line and I recommend it to everyone who wants to have a line of high-quality makeup brushes for a resonable price. They really are super soft! :) So don't worry, you're not the only one. ;)

I agree as well. I bought the smaller highlight/blush brush from the luxury collection at a Boots (UK drugstore) and I also have the other brushes from RT, they're very similar. I just couldn't resist because it's so so pretty Kathleen is right. But I also felt the size and shape would do me good as a highlighter and I wasn't wrong, highly recommend!

So true. I've seen sponsor videos from top KZbinrs and they couldn't be more pointless or 'fakeishly awkward' than ever lol. For example, recently Gossmakeup did a review CLEARLY titled as a Benefit Mascara review, but 30 seconds into the video it suddenly changed into a sponsor video for a goddamn Audio Book company! Like what the hell, how is this even relevant to what you do and this product? Was very weird... but it also lasted for literally half of the whole video and it has completely put me off of him, which is a shame.

I love that all the Real Techniques brushes are so unique looking, they didn't just go with the standard black brushes. And things like the weighted handles, the colour at the base of the bristles, the diamond shape so they don't roll and even on the cheaper ones they're flat on the bottom so you can stand them up and the sets are different colours, it makes them stand out from all other brushes that look the same. If we can get these in Australia one day i'm definitely buying some!

Great video! I love Real Techniques- love most of the original brushes. For the Bold Metals, my favorite is the 203 tapered crease brush. It's slim enough to use on small eyes, lays crease shades down so nicely and is great for blending. I also like the 100 Powder Brush- it's paddle shape is perfect for setting powder- it doesn't disturb your makeup. I also like the blush brush- it's small and dense so it's great for applying a light blush to get a more pigmented look. I use it with the original RT blush brush- they are a great pair. The original is large and diffuses highly pigmented blushes and can also be used for bronzer or even powder. The Bold Metals can be used for highlight and even contour. That's what I love about RT- most of their brushes are multi purpose 👌🏼

lol really though? I have MAC, RT and BD to mention a few and did u ever try washing it and apply deep conditioner? I find the BD ones to be the exact same ones as MAC. Even my MAC ones where rough on the bristles, but after using deep conditioner it got better. Flimsy? They are the exact same shape. The only flimsy brush they have are the Duo Fiber brush!

Kathleen, I hope you really make him look pretty. I've watched youtubers apply makeup to their bf/husband and they usually go for an over the top look, clownish look that doesn't really make them look like a girl but just ridiculous. It would be a lot funnier if you did his makeup like you apply yours and really made him pretty because a guy doesn't know how to react to this. The ridiculous, clown look they can just laugh off. I got my brushes at Ulta in South Carolina and they were buy one get one free and plus I had a $10 off coupon so my Regular retail was over $100 but when the deals kicks in I only paid $40 something and I got 4 brushes because I didn't find the other brushes useful to how I apply my make up and I thought I would just use my old Real Techs and Bold Metal but now I just strictly use Bold Metals its worth every penny and now I wish I would have gotten the other brushes

Personally I use the original Real Techniques brushes more (the ones with the colorful handles). I love the powder brush, blush brush, buffer brush and the stippling brush. They are amazing and you can't beat the price!

+Imogen Nowicki It's way cheaper to buy makeup from America AND pay shipping than it is to buy makeup in NZ. Plus, the combined shipping costs of large quantities is a lot cheaper than shipping an individual item. So no, it's not just those things. If it was, places like MAC and Sephora would ship here at US prices, as long as we were willing to pay shipping, and they don't.

it's supposed to be a 'british owned company'....I think....they keep saying it's the tax in the uk but, they must be making a profit on the brushes sold in the USA, so why not reduce the 'wholesale price' for their uk customers.....with uk tax on the brush should be the equivalent of £19 (or thereabouts)....x

In my country, their core collection costs 49$ and I don't blame pixiwoo sisters for it. I know its because of import tax that my country charges and the cost it takes to import the brushes here from the UK. :( Even in countries like Singapore the cost of RT brushes are super high

Carole Evans The company Real Techniques is owned by Paris Presents which is based in Illinois I believe. I remember a few years back Sam said she was contacted by RT to co-create the brushes so the company is actually US based which is why they are cheaper in the states. I don't think the blame lies with Pixiwoo for the pricing, but they definitely could have made it clearer to viewers who believed that RT was founded by them and was UK based.
