Psychoghost Gaming is a multi-gaming channel.

One question that i really want an answer to: What are the damage multipliers on different body parts? I think i saw some info on that (can't find it again), and i remember that headshots were 6x damage, with chest shots being 1x. But what about the stomach? Arms/legs? Is there body penetration, a.k.a. how much damage would a shot that goes through multiple body parts do? On a side note, the fact that this looks to be becoming a series is great. Would be great if you could cover the sawed-off versions of various guns, because i'm still really torn on them.

I loved this kind of content to be honest. I honestly wish more weapons came with the dead eye scope having only the vert and henry is sad. As the dead eye doesn't seem suited to the henry this is my personal opinion of course. That being said I think the dead-eye on the vetterli is really good and the winnfield doesn't fire that much faster without the fanning treat. I do agree at great distances it is hard to land multiple body shots and kill even more so hard to land head shots but the muzzle velocity isn't that far from the henry. I think in a team line up I would much prefer a sparks playing with me, but in solo play or trio's I think having the vetterli is very useful. It can put a lot of bullets down range fast and unlike the winnie where you can shrug off a few of those and not lose hp getting hit by the vert usually takes something. I know some people play great as a solo sparks, I just personally have issues where ill kill 1 then need to run like hell to reload and either the revive or pick me off/ do heavy damage to me. With the vert like in a few of your videos you can take one out and keep shooting and reloading is relatively fast compared to the single shot weapons like the spark and henry. Though again keep up the great content and this could make a cool video series not something to burn yourself out on but a cool idea that can refresh the game to you from time to time.

As a long time Vetterli user I just straight up noticed my KD dropping like crazy after the release of the Martini up to this patch, I did indeed try it like a budget mosin that could hip fire nice if you get pushed. But Mike you just get outclassed my long ammo, they just back cause the know they can out strafe fire you at a distance and wear down you meds. I really appreciate your professional approach to making these analysis videos I can tell you put the work in. Thanks brother.

Nothin' betterli than a Vetterli! Tbh the Vetterli really isn't in that strange of a spot from a balance perspective. It's the Jack of All Trades rifle. Sure a Winfield is better up close, and sure a Mosin is better at range, but there's no situation where a Vetterli feels useless. After the damage buff, it's even quite competent at longer ranges (although the slow velocity hurts it). When I take a Winfield or shotgun, I always feel like I'm getting clapped from a compound away. When I take a long rifle, I get bum rushed by levering and shotguns. Vetterli isn't the best at anything, but it's not BAD at anything either, and I think that's its biggest strength. It's probably the most reliable primary in the game in my humble opinion. I still prefer higher risk loadouts (Sparks bae), but I have a lot of respect for the weapon and generally find myself doing quite well with it, even if it doesn't stand out on paper.

Some good points, but I personally feel better if I fully commit to a playstyle. But especially as a solo that can backfire pretty badly. I guess, as everything in Hunt it comes down to preference. For me the current state of the game is pretty much balanced.

Velocity is the only thing they need to change. I'd do 440 meter per sec and it will be perfect. Side note buff Martini velocity also to 440 meter.

I'd say this niche is what you can exploit. 40-70, might be a perfect bounty poaching distance. Where you don't really enter the compound, yet you don't trade long range and the fact that you're the poacher, is why you're dictating the distance, in other words, you push the disadvantage on your opponent. Great review, affirms some of my theorycrafting

Yeah I've always hated the Winfield since beta and when I couldn't afford or didn't unlock due Mosin, it was THE best value though things kind of changed with the new meta of 1.3 :/ Actually if it wasn't about never knowing if a Winny guy has lever, I would still pick the Veterly over Winfield.

Same here, i've had the best moments and hits with the Vetterli from the start. Mosin and Lebel feel almost a bit too strong tho, when i got them (mostly stolen, i'm not that rich) ;) But Vetterli just works and feels good, especially with scopesmith/iron sharpshooter.

Sometimes you just find a weapon that just clicks for you. I can't exactly say why, but the Vetterli is that weapon for me. Have yet to perform better with any other weapon, possibly because it just never feels bad or useless, it's kinda always decent. I'm also a huge Deadeye fan as well, so that might have something to do with it

I still haven't understood it. So the target is with all weapons NOT the top of the pin, no matter how it looks like? I‘ve always aimed with the upper end of the pin... i thought, the only difference to the vetterli is, that there the pin is slightly smaller.

Personally, I place a lot of value in the versatility of the Vetterli (it has a decent fire rate, so it's decent up close, and can still do some damage at most engagement ranges), but I'll never call it a great weapon. I just love it. Also, yes, more gun reviews please. :)

So with the Lack of Respect, this is a HUGE positive if you run a Lemat + fanning or a shotgun/close range weapon as your secondary. They will push you and this forces them out of position and can give you the advantage in 9/10 fights IF you know what you're doing. I only bought this game like sunday? And have reached prestige 2. This gun is amazing in the hands of someone that is good in close combat or someone that knows how to mind game. It's also heavily dependent on your secondary weapon unlike most other rifles.

Based on the points described here the vetterli shines just outside compounds going in. Most engagements at the 40-70 marks are when you are pushing the compound but haven't quite gotten into it yet at least that's most of my engagements where I have died in that range.

The possibility of running out of ammo with the Vetterli + Saber combo is why I usually take Derringer with me. People will think you can't attack them at range anymore, so they'll push you and then you switch to Derringer and finish them off.

Eh, it's okay. The 'W' shape iron sight gets in the way at range from my experience. Winfield iron is easier to locate targets.

As someone who likes to play the Vetterli himself, I have to say this video sums it up pretty good; you can get used to that weapon, just adapt to it strenghts and position yourself to its weaknesses. Making this weapon more attractive for other players could be hard; it needs no buff, for its caliber and price the Vetterli is in a good spot regarding stats. Personal, hearing compact ammo, I think of spammy-bois. Having already lost a small health bar, I start to worry hearing a Vetterli or a Springfield, same as I would hearing long-ammo. People DO lack respect for the Vetterli... and I'm always down for teaching them some manners.

At first I thought the video would be too long but then I sat in the couch, played it on TV cause no way I would hold my cellphone for 41min straight lol, and I really went through the whole video like nothing. It was SUPER interesting, funny as always and these highlights just too juicy! I think no other patch since beta ever changed the gameplay as much as 1.3 and it took me a while after 700H before it comes out to adapt, as I even lost 0.30KD to the 2.74 ratio I had and now it's slowly starting to get back up. The thing with the Vetterly is that once you need to waste money before reaching Rank 100 or to prestige, there is no more reason to use it over a Mosin/Lebel. I would still pick it anyday over a traitless Winfield though. I would love to see more gun reviews and what I think would be most interesting is (Springfield vs Martiny vs Spark). I'm in love with the "Martiny Riposte", lots of fun using it but I still hate it's slow velocity, like who the hell would use that with a marksman?! and still don't get the logic being slower than some compact bullets... but I hate the Springfield's ironsight while statswise it should be the best single shot rifle of the bunch.

New player to Hunt:S. Found your channel after searching YT for Hunt. Watched your 100 tips & Stealth Hunter vid. (Made a Hunt: Showdown Radio playlist, btw. Johnny Cash, Ghoultown, Blues Saraceno Brother Dege, John Wick 2 music, The Witcher, etc...) The tips that stuck out to me the most: Always keep your gun out if you think there are Hunters nearby. Always prefer to Melee enemies & bosses. Avoid & use the environment to keep them between you & other Hunters. Use the obstacles, don't waste them or go through them. Kill bosses with guns if you think Hunters are nearby. Speed is essential, but consider waiting to pick up your Bounty until after you've screened your path out so you aren't vulnerable to Sight wall-hacks. Speed is worth more then Stealth, but use stealth if you think other Hunters are near. Stay down, wait 30 seconds (or more, but less then 60) & tell your partner if you see anything. In a game of nerves, the first to move dies. We are generally snipers until we flank. Breech sieges with your Primary & then switch to Secondary at close to mid range. Aim for the belly or the throat T-section. Burn downed Hunters if you think they have a partner nearby. Burn the Butcher & Spider. Poison the Assassin. Open doors in crouch. Serpentine across open ground if Hunters are nearby. Avoid ladders if Hunters are nearby. Crossbow is best for General Purpose but loses to Shotgun in most fights. Jolly co-operation \[T]/ is worth more then sick aim. Use Ping as much as possible. Don't peek the same spot more then 2-3 times. Look to get behind your target before you light them up. Melee Incinerators. HS the Wasp Hive. Shoot Armored Barb-wire Walkers. Learn to love dying. This isn't Day-Z & if you Want to Win you need to Learn to Lose. ---- This game needs: 2-3 more sick maps. A Frozen rocky Bayou mountain with dead settlers & zombie bears & zombie yeti. A desolate Stormy Desert with mine-shafts & dead bandits & miners & Tremor-snakes (Giant Zombie Rattlesnakes?). & a Misty Coastal Lighthouse Swamp with shit-loads of Graveyards & a Voodoo Great-White Shark-man zombie Abomination running around eating EVERYTHING it catches. And the Hunt: Showdown equivalent of Classic Nuke-town. I'm thinking Deadwood. Let us play IN a classic Spaghetti Western Town! I want to see from Dusk to Dawn-levels of Camp & Grindhouse from Crytech. Edit: & just a thought. I might be committing a sin here, but on the Current maps, there should be cabals of Vampires & Warewolves to randomly encounter & send to hell in random encounters.

Definitely get why you felt this way coming out of doing a prestige legs with the Vetterli. One thing though- I think this is a great weapon for what I would consider “assaults”. As a single hunter what I would usually do is go into or just outside a compound and then start picking off people. This paired with like a Bornheim or if you want to save money- a nagant officer- is pretty damn good and deadly.

Vetterli, uppercut has been my go to combo for quite a while now. People far away, hard focus and get a hit with the uppercut, finish of with Vetterli deadeye. Mid range just use the vetterli. Close ups uppercut fanning. I try not to engage people to far away, because I don't trust my aim, and I know most people will have a better aim then me. So push up, or fall back and let them come more into my comfort range. It also means I don't get very pissed of when I die, and as a friendless solo player I die quite a bit! If I had a reliable team mate, I would probably go for more expensive guns. Personally, I'm not much a fan of long ammo, find myself running out of it to quickly which is a massive pain. This could also be because I only play solo and have to take down teams of two or three by myself. So they get a few heals off by having team mates covering them.

Really enjoy this idea, as I think not a lot of people make content regarding how specific guns perform in a more detailed version. That said, I think that the rate of fire and cheap traits such as the ones you mentioned actually make the vetterli a competitive rifle, as you can shoot a lot faster than other rifles at distance without taking your eyes off of the target, even though you don't do that much damage. The hs range buff also helps, making it possible to "spam" shots until you hit the head if you're not that great at aiming lol. Either way, please do make more videos like this, it's always interesting and helpful to see what experienced hunters think about the various guns on the arsenal.

I play on console, where aiming is quite harder than on pc so most fights happen at close to mid range. And at these ranges the vetterli is great. The fast reload and not needing bulletgrubber make it easy to reload after a shot or two and I just can't not say anything about the amazing hipfire. I've managed to win a 1v3 inside a boss lair with the vetterli and even had time to reload mid fight and got away with it. But I guess you should take my opinion with a grain of salt since I'm just rank 80 with 0 prestige.

So in summary vertterli is the embodiment of an all arounder, it can works on short, medium and long range but will be outperform by a gun that specializes in any of the ranges. I say its a pretty interesting weapon, if it gets a medium version it might work well in a loadout with the bomblance.

Turned my sensetivity down, and suddenly I could land my shots. I've been frying with the deadeye variant. It may not be the best, but at $130, it has unbeatable value in my opinion.

One of the biggest issues I had when playing the vetterli was still switching to my pistol at the beginning out of habit. It's almost as fast as a winny, just follow up with another vetterli round!

I think one of the best ways for anyone to answer the question "Should I use the Vietterli?" is for them to try out the Sweetbell Flower trial. You get all the nice perks and plenty of targets. The rate at which you crack that bolt, and the fact that you don't need bullet grubber makes it such a good stop gap on the way to the better rifles.

I like the Vetterli because with smart play, and a little positioning, you can always put yourself at an advantage. If they're using winnie/shotgun just create distance, and if they're using long ammo, move in. Most other guns in the game simply can't do that. The Vetterli isn't really better than any other rifle at anything, but it's main strength is that it can exploit the weakness of any other weapon (with the exception of quick swapping basically removing the weakness of long ammo for the accurate, but that's a different discussion.). So if you have a fixed play style, the Vetterli won't work for you, but if you have a flexible or variable play style, you'll love it. And he must not have tried wall banging very often, because the Vertterli actually wall bangs pretty good through wood walls which is what most compounds are, and it has enough ammo to fish corners without worrying about running low on ammo too much. The only spots wall banging becomes difficult is in the woods, as some trees it won't go through, and some it will.

Last patch is what really did the Vetterli in; it used to be the best rifle for everything below long range with great hipfire accuracy and speed while still allowing you to wallbang wood surfaces. Now winfields with levering can kill you twice over AND have enough ER to go for headshots at medium range so yeah... The situations in which you would want to have a Vetterli over a winfield are so niche you never really run into them, and even if you do you can just peace out and not take a fight at that very specific range. Don't get me wrong I love the compact ammo buff but at this point medium ammo is going to need some completely unique feature in order to be viable competition to either compact spam or the good old long ammo two-tap meta. As it stands I only ever bring medium ammo when resetting prestige since you get the vetterli super early and it's the only half decent gun you're allowed to buy for a while. I don't think I've ever brought a Pax without a Vetterli on a Fanning hunter, and the Springfield is just poo (would be a great gun if they buffed the sway on all compact versions by like 10x).

As usual great work! It is me in my team who has to take care of the analysis and strat side and I came to the same analysis as you (not as good for sure) and what a pleasure when a game you planned absolutely everything that will happen;-) the only thing I'm not ok is to remove the pax, only the noobs will rush you stupidly and they are not hard at 2shot and the switch mechanics is so important in hunt!!!! What would make me super happy is an analysis on the best strategy choices once you have killed a boss in trio, personally I block a lot of the top often it lacks the info of a team on the map ... You will probably make a new meta^^ to be patient is one thing, but when choosing to take the incentive....

Vertelli standard is the best medium range rifle in the game. I love the rate of fire as well as the iron sites on this gun and with FMJ this gun is totally brutal with the number of quick rounds you can discharge. I agree with the 40-70 m sweet spot for this weapon , but I have found a majority of gun fights in hunt are at this range anyway. You can always choose not to engage in long distance gun fights.

It's a fast medium range rifle. A DMR. Not exactly fit for long range sniping, but for dropping bodies outside the best range of other weapons. When used right it is a fine rifle, and my go to main honestly. You can pack along a dedicated melee weapon or using quartermaster, something more suited for close range work. At longer ranges it is outclassed by dedicated snipers, no doubt. Buuuuuuut, that doesn't mean it won't pose a threat, especially in a team of say 3 where your Vetterli can provide support to either close range or long range kits. It isn't the best, but it is versatile. In the end the way it straddles the line like this makes it more appealing for me, I like being versatile.

Vetterli is a universal "im not sure how I'm going to play this match" gun with attractive price for me. The dead eye is nice for shooting through cracks, also you dont lose bullets when partially reloading.

I love the Vetterli. I've gotten a lot of kills with it. Within that 40 meters you're talking about is pretty much hipfire mandatory. Took a few deaths up close to figure that one out. After that I aced teams trying to push me very quickly.

I can have 20k and 15-20 hunters; and I swear more than half have the Vetterli and an officer or fanning pax Sure I love the mosin, but the hip fire abilities for the vetterli is amazing. Headshots have decent range and a two tap makes it worth it. Only drawback is the lack of penetration compared to long ammo rifles and a limited range.

When I started playing the game back in 1.1 after unlocking the Vetterli was the first time I felt like having impact in the game. Couldn't get anything done with the winnie, but with the vetterli I started killing trios single handedly while my partner was just trying to bait them. after unlocking the lebel and therefore focussing on long ammo I rarely had such amazing plays like I had with the vetterli. So for me the vetterli is still one of the best guns out there.

Loved it, Mike. Your approach was entertaining and informative. Surprised you didn't bring up the reload speed. I know it's not blazing fast but it's easy to top off on the fly to avoid running out. I think this balances the 6+1. I'd wanna see your take on more weapons that don't frequent your loadouts. Springfield or lemat, perhaps?

@@PsychoghostGaming me neither. I used the Springfield a lot in budget loadouts until Winnie got its buff. I almost never use the lemat. I think it's in a bad place right now. Nagant Officer outclasses it before fanning. With fanning, I think there are better options. The shotgun component is nearly worthless. You almost have to be in Saber range for it to kill. All just my opinion of course.

I was quite surprised when I found out here that you didn't consider Vetterli a dangerous gun to go against. I always thought of it as something, which has the same performance as a Mosin, except just for medium range. I'm just glad that people don't know how strong it is with the fast bolting skills, lol. The only 2 weapons I probably didn't use to be scared of were the Rival Handcannon (I regularly melee kill people that get them at the start of Quickplay) and the Winnies, but the latter changed after 1.3, thankfully.

@@PsychoghostGaming I think it's because we know the gun is good and now better than ever, but we uncounciously THINK that someone bad or new is using it because it is a "mid-tier weapon". Honestly we would still think the same about the Winfield if it wasn't about now not knowing if that guy has Lever or not. I personally can't stand aiming the Winni without the trait, as I lose track too easily and it "feels" too slow between shots.

The Vetterli it self doesn't scare me, but someone who's good with it does. If you push a Vetterli with a Mosin you'll get shot well before you've chambered another bullet unless you're quick swapping.

Lately those first two clips you've shown have been me...Can't even get past a level one hunter over the last week even if i manage to snag the bounty with a buddy we just end up getting the entire server on top of our heads. I feel like the Vetterli is misunderstood by many. Most guns you want to always play to your strengths, so normally I just play to the opponents weakness. Suppressing fire and close with long ammo or keep compact/shotties at range where they are less effective.

I used to conquer the bayou with Vetterli Now I still conquer the bayou with Vetterli except when enemies have Avtomat or Nitro Because the RoF of Vetti is so high comparing to other bolt action rifle and the deadeye scope is good to use in medium range with or without perk Normally I combine vetti with a saber for covering medium range or engaging CQC and derringer in case i need them The loadout work out great in Duo when you have friend to cover you with long ammo or for you to cover your shotgun friend breaching a compound

I got my friend to play Hunt with me, but he gets one shotted alot of the times we Play, or we just get a Kill on a Bounty and leave with basically no Encounters, hes very frustrated and loses his motivation to play pretty fast. His movement and gameknownlegde is obviously not that great and i try to give tipps, but its hard for him to apply them correctly in the right situations. I really love this game and want more people to play it but everytime i try this kinda stuff happens for my friends and the alt+f4 pretty fast. Since you are an awsome community iam hoping for some tipps from you which will maybe make it more fun my friend :) Have a nice day
